Is the adapter intended to be installed permanently or can it be used only when I need a 1-1/4”, I.e., is it easily installed and removed?

I have a small SUV and it's a lease vehicle,what do you recommend? I don't want to do anything that would compromise the lease contract.

I would suggest contacting your lease company before adding anything to the vehicle to be on the safe side.

Can this go into a 1,25” receiver so the 2” Can be used on a bike rack?
Unfortunately no, and the part you are speaking of is no longer available. We only have the 2.14 that goes into the 2. They do not have a lip on the receiver, just a straight peace of iron.
