How low does this hang to the ground if used in a hitch on a 2003 Cavalier?

–Jason P 12/17/2019 6:41:05 PM

can I open my rear hatch on kia sportage with this on?

–janet 10/17/2019 2:04:14 PM

Hi, Janet! The rear of the vehicle will not fully open when the Carpod Carrier is attached and is holding cargo. If the carrier is empty, you can fold the walls in a way that will allow for access to the rear of the vehicle. I hope that is helpful!

–Savannah 10/18/2019 8:34:01 AM

Hello, what is the difference between this unit and the Carpod Fold up Hitch Cargo Carrier With 4” Rise? Thanks!

–Mike 9/8/2019 3:48:14 AM

Hello, Mike! The main difference between the two carriers is the rise, which provides ground clearance if your vehicle sits closer to the ground. Other than that, the products are essentially identical. I hope that is helpful!

I have a 2013 Honda Crosstour (V6), thinking to have Uhaul to install a hitch (Uhaul.com recommended a Class I hitch of 1,25"), can I have my car installed with this Carpod Carrier with a 1,25" to 2" hitch adapter? My concern is when installed with this cargo carrier (including the weights of the hitch and the carrier) whether the Tongue Weight is bearable with my car?

–AW 11/3/2017 10:22:58 PM

Hello! This Carpod Carrier is not recommended for your application. We recommend viewing cargo carriers designed for 1-1/4 inch receivers. The Curt Angled Shank Cargo Carrier is an option fit for a 1-1/4 inch receiver.

If you would like to have U-Haul install a cargo carrier, please contact your local U-Haul Hitch Center to make arrangements. I hope that is helpful!

Thanks for asking Ralph.

–Joseph 3/10/2015 8:00:44 AM

I have a 2009 vw tiguan. Is it possible to open the back hatch when the carpod is loaded? Will it clear the exhaust and rear lights?

–ralph 3/7/2015 5:33:14 AM

Ralph, our hitch pro writes "The Carpod Carrier will sit approximately 1 inch beyond the Volkswagen Tiguan rear bumper. The 22" sidewall height will not allow the rear hatch door to open when fully loaded."

Thanks for asking.
