I checked in online to avoid the typical 45min - 1 hour or more wait time I'm used to experiencing at U-haul. Got to the location to find only one person on duty and they are helping another person who did the online check-in and guess what? There is an issue with the online check-in. I proceed to wait 30 minutes while they try to solve the problem eventually needing to call the internal help line to solve a computer issue. While the employee is on hold, he offers to help me. We go through the process and half way through tech support picks up, so he needs to switch back to the other customer, that's fine. Talking through the issues with tech support on speaker it's clear that there are systematic issues with the computer system that require cobbled together work arounds, when the employee tries to be proactive and ask why the issue happened or what he can do to make sure it doesn't happen in the future the tech explains that it's just a problem that they can't fix so when it happens he just needs to disregard the online check-in and start the persons check in from scratch. So, the clerk rolls through the entire check in process with customer #1 again while I wait. Eventually returning to me, luckily, I don't have the same issue, but it appears that even though I prepaid online and included photos of my ID as per the online check-in resource he still needs my credit card and ID, fine but should be unnecessary. At this point the clerk is frazzled by bouncing back and forth trying to solve all these issues and get everyone’s equipment. It's been about an hour maybe more. This sucks! To be clear, I don't blame the clerk he was as helpful as he could be working within the U-haul system. It's obvious that the U-haul model and system are poorly conceived and as designed waste time of both U-haul employees and customers alike. No one I've encountered in my experience with the company was happy and likewise no customers I encountered during my experience had any lack of complaints about the service, in fact there is some level of customer camaraderie over the dubious/frustrating experience. We can commiserate and that's something. One last note. I rented a tow dolly for a car and purchased the insurance. I was told that I, “could not pick up the dolly on the same day, I'd need to go load my truck then return to U-haul" for another excruciating experience to have the tow dolly installed. "If I picked it up today and took it home, removed the dolly to pack my truck then re-attached it, my insurance would be void. I must have a U-haul employee install the dolly". Illogical but fine, I go home and load the truck, return the next day to get the dolly installed and guess what? no one in the office, I walk around the property a bit and see another confused customer (imagine that) and finally come across a gnarly employee filling propane tanks. He asks what I want, I tell him, he seems irritated. I see he is filling about ten large propane tanks. I ask, "

I was very disappointed with my experience with uhaul this time! I made reservations and I never got a call back to confirm location of trailer! I then finally got in contact with someone after multiple calls and representatives were very rude with attitude! So once a location was determined onwhere I needed to pick up trailer I arrive there and to my disbelief the trailer, was not there and I had to spend another 40 minutes on the phone trying to locate another trailer, which derailed my departure to the following day! I then had to travel an hour away from home to Shreveport and back home with trailer, which added additional expenses to my already long an expensive commute!!

These guys are great. Last week I had a trailer door break on me and wasn't able to open it. Richard and the team at the Barksdale location delivered another trailer to me. Johnny on the spot.

I called the other location on Barksdale Boulevard since it is closer to my home and the guy who answered the phone couldn't speak where I could even understand him. He mumbled and wasn't helpful at all. This is the reason I went a couple of miles down the roar. They were great.

Richard needs work on his people skills (cordial, courteous, kind) especially due to the circumstance that we drove from Bossier City, LA to p/u the truck in Minden, LA (initial reservation), only to be told by Katy they did not have a truck for us because the truck had been taken by the above U-haul store and they should have called to inform us on (9/13/19) that we had to come to them! The wrong number written down for us by Katy and she apologized! The computer also was not loading properly and was delayed additional one hour forty five minutes. We took the truck to Sibley, LA, loaded it and returned to p/u our car dolly and was told we needed to be upgraded to to a auto transport because the ford fusion was to heavy for the car dolly. This car had been driven to the store (Minden, LA) prior to reservation and was told it would fit! The computer still was not loading properly and we spent another approximate two hours however Brandon was great and is the reason for the scores I gave! The good is Katy apologized for her mistake, we were given 100 additional miles, fifty dollars credit and no additional charge for auto transport! We were told this was due to the guaranteed reservation however we lost five ours or more dealing with this situation and feel that slow computers and having to call the IT guy for help was self inflicted by U-haul and "our time" was most important! Please upgrade your computers and ask for more than one phone number at all locations!

At least 3 customers left while I waited 15 to 20 minutes for my reservation. Was not sure why I had to wait so long. When he finally asked for my name, it only took about 5 minutes then. At least 2 of the people that left they only need propane but told would be a while.

I made an online reservation a week ahead. The trailer was clean and ready, but was at another location. My husband has learned to always ask! Other than that, they were very helpful at both ends of the line. Thank you!

Lower pricing I used the truck for a local rental to move and ended up with a $600.00 bill, in the past after my active duty military service I used your service and trucks to relocate home and wasn't charged as much to move across country. I will not use your service or trucks again with the current pricing.

I think it would be easier to identify where you parked the vehicle if spaces were numbered or labeled in some way. That way The customer could say specifically where a rental was parked after hours. This is an in general comment not specific to my drop off location.

I hate the phone answering service. When you call the voice sounds like someone answers, then pauses and then continues. Basically, the first contact with this company is a SmartA— answering machine. Very unprofessional and I will avoid this location in the future.

First of all, I had reserved a trailer from the N. Hearne store a week in advance ! But the trailer wasn’t returned yet from another customer! The reservation was done on a school credit card! And was going to pay that way also! So the gentleman tells me that the Barksdale location has the same trailer! Remind you that I’m on a very tight schedule! So I drive to the Barksdale location and when I walk in the door I don’t see any employees! I walk the entire premises and still no employees! After 15 minutes the one and only employee walks into the store! I told him if my incident from the N Hearne store but he shows little interest! He couldn’t find the reservation credit card in the computer system and was sooooo slow about trying to accommodate me! After 25 minutes on the computer and not finding the reservation I had to pay with my personal credit card! While trying to hitch the trailer to my truck he struggled for 10 minutes to connect the trailer to the hitch! All this being said I’m now an hour and half behind schedule and $84 out of my own pocket! Overall it was a very aggravating experience! And my school uses UHaul 3-4 times a year for our football team!
