Comment U-Haul Fonctionnement des avisI originally made a reservation for 10/2 at Check Sales in Hendersonville. I checked on it 10/1 at Checker sales and they told me I had to pick up the truck at Ca Do Motors on 10/2 --not at checker sales. I then called Can Do to be sure they would be open after 5. They said no so I arranged to pick up the truck at 4:00 which we did. The owner was not available and had to have a secretary give us the keys. In addition he said our reservation was cancelled (WE NEVER CANCELLED IT) and he had to build I new one. This was not ok. The original estimate was $161 he built it new for $219. What a scam. Also, we called on 10/3 to return the truck in Charlotte and had to get UHAUL involved as the contract was written to return the truck to Hendersonville and not the one way we arranged to return to Charlotte. We got that changed but were then charged an additional 27.21 when we returned the truck and do not know why. We only had 1/4 tank in (we took a picture) in the truck when picking up and returned it with a bit more than 1/4 tank. This was totally unacceptable. We ended up paying $86 more than agreed and got a total run around.
Spencer SWhat is the purpose of emails being sent to the renter AFTER he has already left the rental office, only to be discovered late at night, if at all? Some people, like myself, don't carry around with them a mobile phone, much less a camera to take pictures. I suspect this is a corporate issue rather than the rental office itself. The renter should be informed prior to leaving the office what he needs to do regarding inspection of the vehicle before leaving the lot.
