We were sent to a location 45 minutes from our destination in downtown Houston Texas. The area was dark, unattended and dangerous to say the least (it was in an alley). There was no place to drop the keys off nor park the truck. It took 25 minutes on the phone to reach someone to assist us while waiting in a dark alley in the 3rd ward of Houston. We were approached on 2 occasions by people wanting money. When we reached someone on the phone we were then sent to the other side of Houston 30 minutes away. Although it was easy to drop off at that location, had someone really been on their toes we could have dropped the truck off less than 10 minutes from our original destination for renting the truck. All in all it took 2 hours to drop a vehicle off that should have taken no more than 10 minutes. It was a waste of gas & time. The area at 2521 N Main, Houston is a dangerous area at night and should not be used as someone could get seriously hurt. I would recommend in the future anyone doing a drop off in an unknown area get that info upfront. AND please look at the area your sending people, driving across Houston twice at 10:00 at night is not pleasant when we could have avoided it by dropping off very close to the original destination. So drop off I rate U Haul (Extremely Poor)!

By far my best Uhaul experience ever…. The customer service at this location exceeds that of any location I have ever been to, I have rented over 75 Uhaul’s in the past 20 years. The manager was extremely informative and the clerk who help me on the day of pick up was so professional, I wanted to hire her for my company. I love this store.

The customer service was not good... I had accountability for a mistake I made with my original reservation, and there was an unwilling attitude to help, I never got any customer service and was told to get the truck myself since I reserved online pickup... The overall experience was poor, I will definitely be using another company and in future And encourage others the same

You could start by getting a new GM. The General manager was rude and when he had to call a secondary contact he said the person had to be able to speak English. At first I understood and thought it was because they didn’t have personnel who spoke Spanish but when a customer called back and he couldn’t communicate with them he got one of his co workers to speak with them and they spoke good Spanish. They also double charged my account which he didn’t say they were going to do and customer service wasn’t helpful In resolving this issue either. Overall it was a terrible experience and I won’t be using uhaul again or recommending it to anyone.

The car wasn’t hooked onto the car hauler correctly. The straps on the tires fell off and I had to fix them. The truck leaked from front to back, so most of my stuff got wet. There was no wiper fluid and when we contacted customer service, they were not helpful.

I did early check in on line. Supposedly this was to prevent me from having to spend the time standing in line, and answering all the insurance questions, show driver's license, and credit card. After standing in line for 30 minutes, I was asked again the inane questions about insurance, phone numbers, ID, credit card, license, etc. etc. I had the paperwork with the contract number and mentioned several times I checked in and paid in advance on line, but was basically ignored. Either I was misinformed on your website, or the rental location personnel need more training.

The people there were very bad, discriminated me, lied on me, confused me to get whatever they want me to take and they said only the truck which I’m trying to use is have Plicy of return to the same location, I asked for any other one and they said they don’t have to forced me to take 17’ and returned it. The person there didn’t give me my line and asked the one behind me to come before me because they are same color. I really felt no fair and no professionally behaviors. I will never use UHaul anymore. Finally I remember that the truck chair is not comfort and the truck is consuming to much gas additional to the engine is not stable.

Trying to call around and simply locate a trailer was a pain in the ass. U-Haul makes that process extremely cumbersome and annoying. However, once I got to this location which had exactly what I needed they took care of things very quickly and got me on the road. The trailer was old (1991) but well maintained and clean and worked perfectly for my needs.

The folks here have their stuff together! All personnel involved in the drop off were friendly, accommodating and were quick with the drop off transaction. I would definitely recommend this location.

The only positive thing I have to say about this location is that they took the car off the Auto Loader for me before I went running all over town to try to get rid of it. I didn't like the fact that the guy tried to tell me that I didn't have factory tires on my car all because he apparently cut his hand when trying to get the belts off the tires. When the manager hooked up the car he didn’t have any issues. On top of that I’ve had this car for 13 years and I’ve used the same brand of tires and I’ve never once had a mechanic tell me my tires where not the right size. I also didn’t like how he started the conversation by saying I hope I’m not about to piss you off. Which basically meant he was. This was a big U-Haul location and he told me he didn’t have room for the Auto Transport. She he called the customer support number and they told him to send me to 6210 Bissonnet. Well that was a very small shop and their lot was sort of full so he told me they couldn’t take it. I called the Houston regional office PISSED and they told me to take it to 6040 Westpark, which thankfully they took it. The customer should not have to do all this running around to drop off equipment. Drop off locations need to be verified at the time of rental or the customer needs to be notified immediately if the drop off location can’t take the equipment. All this running around caused me to miss the leasing office at the apartment and I needed to see them about my garage remote. I was also inconvenienced because when I came back to the 6808 location to drop the truck and pick up my car after hours I couldn’t use 24/7 because it wanted me to drop the truck at 6040 Bissonnet which wasn’t possible since my car was at 6808 Bissonnet. So I left the truck there because I wasn’t driving back to the location. Thankfully I was able to call and get the drop off changed via phone and they checked the truck in with no problems. I’m pretty sure I over paid for gas because the truck was not full when I picked it up, but I filled it up for drop off to avoid any more confusion!
