It didn't do me much good to check-in online when I chose "go into the store to pick-up". The info I entered had to be re-verified. The blankets I requested were not ready so I also had to wait for those, as well. The no-personal-contact pick-up made the truck condition verification take longer. I was almost late to the pick-up appointment I had rented the truck for. Perhaps you need more warnings on needing more time for this process at booking. I requested a 15' truck because I needed 15' of length and your trailers were only 12'. It appeared to be 12' if you don't count the cab room. I think this truck needs to be renamed.

When ordering a 26' truck I specifically asked for a lift gate. I asked to clarify and was confirmed. When we picked it up, we did not look to see if there was one or not as it was confirmed. Needless to say, it was not and this caused a delay in our progress. I had to go back to the location to ask why in person as I can never reach them in the store by phone. The attendant when asked said that none of the U-Hauls have lift gates. This was very frustrating and cost me more money in the long run. We had to return the truck and rent another one which I would have done a week ago with another company. I ended up paying more by booking last minute. My time and budget were blown due to the inaccurate information provided by the team member here locally that gave me the confirmation that I would have a lift gate. Needless to say this was not my best experience with U-Haul.

The second location was great but I will never recommend you all again based on the piece of crap truck y'all gave me to drive to load my stuff and to use when I tried to return it it took me 30 minutes to start it why would you rent that kind of junk


Need more trucks. I wanted a cargo van. I got the only 10' truck available.


This location is and always is amazing!! The service was great! The guys behind the counter are very informative and always friendly and work as quickly as possible to get everyone out! Today this location was SUPER busy! (Line out the door busy) but they all had smiles and treated everyone with excellent customer service and even took the time to walk boxes out to the car for us!! Definitely will always use this location!!! P.S make sure you make a reservation in advance :-)

The manager at this location adjacent to the old Irving Mall was spectacular. He was hands down the best customer support I've had with Uhaul. He needs to be promoted to a higher position. Great attentiveness to customer service. Will gladly rent from again in the future.

There was trouble picking up my cargo van at the Irving Blvd. location in Irving, Texas because halfway through the self-check in, I was notified that my van was already assigned to someone else. The on-site U-Haul attendant assigned me another van and said he did not understand what was going on. The alternate van had over a dozen dents, scratches and marks, but because the attended assigned me the van I was not able to indicate the problems on my contract. This was alarming but turned out to be the least of my worries. My contract said that I could use my towing vehicle with U-Haul equipment only. When I got to my destination, out of town, to pick up the items it became apparent that my load was larger than the available capacity of the van. At this point, I contacted U-Haul about renting a U-Haul trailer for the overflow items. This is when I was notified that my cargo van was not a towing vehicle, which contradicted my contract paperwork. After one hour on the phone with multiple corporate U-Haul employees I was told that my contract was wrong, that I had the wrong van and that a U-Haul cargo van is not a towing vehicle. I asked for concessions on the one-way drop off fee if I was to get another, larger truck. I also asked not to be charged the higher mileage rate of the larger truck. The U-Haul representative said she could not authorize the changes. She said they must be approved by the original pickup location, but she was concerned about getting them involved because of how messed up the original contract/pick up handled. The U-Haul representative said I would hear from a management person the following day and they would hear my story and then decide on the requested concessions. Bright and early the next morning I received a call from a junior, assistant manager at the original location in Irving, Texas. He was clearly not trained in customer service or business practices. He told me obviously I did not have a towing vehicle and was perturbed when I asked for his name. And then even more perturbed when I then had to ask for his last name that he was withholding. The assistant manager gave me the number of a regional representative who he said might be able to help. The regional representative never called back. I paid the USPS over $600 to ship back my items, which were damaged in route. At this point I don't ever plan on using U-Haul again.
