Pick up is never the problem. Drop off places so far for me, (2 different places in 2 months), are nothing short of miserable. Miserable is actually a compliment. The first time, no one was there even though I called ahead. The second time, there was someone there, wasting oxygen. I'm a 71 year old man and I made the mistake of assuming that I would have at least a little help dropping off. Nope. This gives a black-eye to the uhaul organization as far as I'm concerned. Pick up is great, (that's the end where they get your money). I've got one more 900 mile trip to make soon and I'd rather carry my belongings on my back than to spend another dime at uhaul.james F.
The self check-in seemed user friendly, but was frustrating when trying to take a picture of the driver's license. The system required it to be placed a certain way, but that was never stated. It was also unclear as to whose license was needed...driver or person who reserved. Many people were renting that day, but it was very difficult to get the U-haul out from all the others. Everything was very tightly parked. Even with these minor frustrations, we would still rent again from this location.Alex P.
We dropped off the equipment to this location the truck we turned into this location was NOT cleaned when we picked it up. The guy we rented from was very unprofessional and rude. He would NOT do a walk around with us (he said he already did a walk round and wouldn't do another one with us). He did NOT give us a copy of our contract. We had to have it printed for us when we picked up a uhaul auto transport at another location because we were not informed until just 4 days before we were to pick up our equipment that we couldn't get the truck and trailer at the same location and we had made the reservation over a month in advance and prepaid for the equipment. Almost everyone I had to speak with at corporate was either rude or unprofessional/unwilling to help. The only people who helped me at all at uhaul were the ladies I spoke with when I dropped the equipment off and the gentleman that printed my original contract when we picked up the auto transport. I have used uhaul several times in the past but this experience was so horrible I will likely never use uhaul again. Again, this was NOT due to anything at the drop off location. This was ALL from corporate over the phone and when we picked up the truck.Arthur W.
Vehicle was dirty. We had to sweep it out before we could use it. Sand and dirt in the cargo area. Grass and dirt on passenger seat. Had to clean it off. Van seemed to be hesitating in the engine. Was swaying as we were driving. Unloaded and loaded.Julia D.
I went to pick up a 6x12 enclosed trailer in West Virginia. One of the four tires was visibly low on air. The U-Haul employee told me it was due to being parked on a gravel lot, which I knew was a load of crap. Sure enough, by the time I got it loaded several days later, the tire was low again. Tried to call and was on hold so long I finally gave up. Aired up the tire myself and stopped in Indianapolis. The U-Haul folks there replaced the tire and wheel, but it was difficult to get somebody on the phone to do it. Made it to Texas without any further issues. The folks at the Texas location were very helpful and accommodating. To be fair and honest, the manager at the West Virginia location credited me $75 off (on a $730 15-day rental), because of the tire trouble. Trying to get someone to answer the phone to help you is an exercise in frustration.Brooks C.
I booked a $50 guaranteed reservation for a 10ft truck. I showed up to pick up my truck and they had no truck for me!! Another lady showed up at the next counter and she also had reserved a 10ft. truck and was told that she didn't get one either. I was offered a free upgrade to a 15 ft. truck for free. Mind you...this bigger trick is going to take more gas to run. Which came out of my pocket. I was not reimbursed the â€œ$50 guaranteeâ€ for not having my reservation. I was asked to wait an hour for a 15ft truck because they did not have one even though they offered it to me. I was on a timeline and UHaul ruined my schedule. The employee took my name and number and said he'd call me when the truck came in. 2 and a half hours later... no call from Uhaul. I called and was on hold for 10 minutes when I decided to just drive over and see if they had a truck yet. I walked in, there sat 2 employees at the counter doing nothing. There on the wall behind them also hung the keys to the 15ft truck they were supposed to call me about almost 2 hours ago. They had forgotten to call me. This rental was a fiasco from start to finish.Sharon J.

The checking out online system was hard to navigate. It wouldn't accept a picture of my license, took 30 minutes off the time I expected to have the rental. It also wouldn't allow me to edit the time I had it reserved for. I would check out during business hours next time, if I ever rented again.Mary L.
