The left trailer tire had a separated steel belt that resulted in high vibrations of the trailer at speeds of 25 to 35 MPH. We stopped a couple of hours into our trip and contacted the roadside service who changed the tire. The technician showed us how the tire tread was very out of round due to the belt separation. This should have been checked at the pickup location. We lost over two hours of time to get the tire changed.

Scotties was fantastic. However U-Haul itself was terrible. I reserved a small trailer 3 weeks before needing to pick it up. 2 days before pickup I was told that the small trailer was not available so they would upgrade me at no additional charge. I went to pick up my trailer at the confirmed location, only to find that it was not there and they didn’t have a trailer available. The U-Haul rep said I could switch and pick one up from Scotties, but said that U-Haul would not honor the original price. I pushed back. After a talk with a manager, I was told I would get the same price. When I arrived at Scotties, my reservation had been changed from 8 days to 1 day. They couldn’t extend the reservation without cancelling it. So I ended paying more for a bigger trailer that I didn’t need. The smaller trailer was the correct size for what I needed. More to the story, but I will leave it at I wouldn’t risk my plans again by using U-Haul.

Summer MCould not understand what the order was or how to see that it was for a car hauler not a toy trailer for RV toys. Had call company when half way home and that is a one hour drive. the lady said of course we have the trailer so we had to turn around and go to a new location where we received the correct trailer without any issues. Employe needs to do a check with corporate office if they have concerns and ask questions.
