Person at front desk was rude and short with myself and other customers. Truck was very dirty with leftover equipment from previous customers in the back. Before coming this location, I also stopped by another one, U-Haul Moving & Storage of Scott's Addition at The Diamond. There was a worker called Rock and he found and helped us to schedule the 10' box truck. He was amazing and willing to help us with extra efforts. He must be promoted to the next level.JINYONG C.

The employees were friendly and efficient, but the major problem with this U-Haul experience was the disconnect between what I'd ordered and what I got. I specifically requested two dollies because I had a lot to move and not many people helping. Shortly after placing my reservation, I got an email and a call from U-Haul saying the original location from which I'd made a reservation wouldn't have dollies, so I got switched to this one because they would. When I got there, the manager said that they did not have any dollies and he was unsure why I was told they would have them. I did not get charged for them, but I had to go buy a dolly so I could accomplish my move effectively, and it was an unnecessary expense if U-Haul had actually had ready what it promised. Additionally, the van I got was probably 20-30yrs old and sounded like it was going to explode when I got anywhere past 40mph, but it thankfully got the job done. I will be looking at other companies when I move next because I don't want a last second surprise like I had with this experience. Again, this is nothing against these employees, as my pickup and drop off were smooth â€” it's a bigger problem of the corporate/regional reservations, plus a super old truck they sounded like it could break down at any moment.ALLENPAUL S.

this was not the fault of this location, but we had a rental confirmed in Charlottesville graduation weekend and the night before at 10 pm we get an email saying it's been cancelled -- no explanation. Luckily, the national reservation U Haul was able to find one for us at the Richmond location -- it required we drive 2 additional hours roundtrip. I wouldn't probably reserve again because I can't have that happen -- a cancellation.Timothy S.

The best part of the experience was the associate. He had a line of full of people before the store even opened and promptly got everyone taken care of. The reason for my â€œaverageâ€ review is that I had booked a 24/7 truck share pick up for 8 am. When it came time to pick up the truck, I received a message online that I wasn't actually able to until the store opened at 9. When I asked the associate why that was, he said it was because their 24/7 system has been down. If the system isn't available, it should've been made known. I actually ended up losing moving help that I hired because they couldn't wait an hour.VERAEVGENIEVNA M.
I made an online reservation and when I showed up at the Diamond location there was no truck for me. When I showed up to get my truck there was only ONE employee working. She was unable to assist me for 20 minutes and then when she finally was she told me I had to go to another location. So that was another 10 minutes. THEN when I when I went to Willow Lawn location they took forever. I was an hour behind on my move time because they inconvenienced me. When I returned my truck I was unable to return shrink wrap I bought for NO legitimate reason. Allegedly there was a clear plastic cover on it, so it was considered â€œopen.â€ This was of course after I waited ANOTHER 20minutes in line. I got ripped off indefinitely. The experience was terrible and I'll never recommend uhual to anyone.KATHERINEELIZABE M.
