I wanted to self return it but the rude lady wouldn't let me. The battery on the truck died and they still charged me for a late return. I was told 200 miles was included but when I returned it they said I only had 91 miles included and charged me for the "extra miles". By far my worst experience and I rent u hauls all the time.

When we came in to pickup our truck the guy behind the counter did not have a mask on and did not put his cell phone down the whole time he helped us. He literally had it in his hand the whole time. And then when he brought us outside to the truck the first thing he did when we got outside was spit on the ground. How rude and unprofessional.

Only 1 of the 2 ordered dollies was in the truck upon pick-up. Had to go back for the other. Then the store gave us the wrong one, making the move more difficult and costing us time in a 24-hr rental. I'm not sure that they could have messed up this order anymore.

I reserved a truck in person at the closet location to our house about 2 weeks in advance for multiple days for a local move because I wasn't able to reserve it online for more than 24 hours. While at the store I found out that there is no guarantee of getting the vehicle I wanted from that location because there might not be a truck dropped off there when I wanted to pick it up. The next day I received notification that my pickup location had been changed to another store about 10 miles away. When I arrived at that location they told me that U-Haul had overbooked and that they did not have the truck I reserved but it would be available the next morning at 9:00. Had to change plans and come back to pick it up the next day. No fault of the pickup location, the staff there were just fine, not happy with U-Haul but unfortunately there are not a lot of other options available, hopefully won't have to move again anytime soon.

Truck had bald tires. Bad transmission, dangerous to drive. Messed up my reservation, truck broke down. U-haul has stolen an extra $650 from me. Horrible experience, put my life in danger. Will be filling with BBB and filing law suits. Chad Steen

Staff were busy with other customers but using the mobile app I was able to check in my trailer in 5 or 10 minutes. Spoke with one of the staff briefly who ok'd my check-in, placed my folded and bagged moving blankets inside the sales area, they thanked me and I was on my way.

I was really frustrated with how little help the front desk was. I stated immediately that I was new and had never used this service before, thinking I would get a run-down of information of how/what my options are. My response I received after informing the employee of this was "K" and then an awkward long pause where she starred at me, and no words were exchanged. Literally she just sat there and did not speak a word. Instantly this was a red flag; which later only affirmed my suspicion that this process was going to be lengthy and frustrating. I was really confused because she was of no help absolutely what so ever. I could only imagine that maybe she was new and this was the result of poor management; or she simply did not care. After the long weird pause, I had to ask for the steps in which I needed to do next, in order to get my vehicle and leave. It felt like I had to force the information out of her. When I would get direction/info it was in bits and pieces. For example; I was told; word for word: "take a photo of your DL, front and back" I do so. Then the long pause/awkward stare.. I had to then ask is there something more I need to do with these? "You'll have to go on the website".... I had to tell her can you please maybe try explaining differently, im so sorry I don't understand what the steps or directions are. So far Im being told bits of information that im needing to string together in order to make sense. I had to ask her for directions that made sense. I found out, that I need to go to my email, find the url that was sent to me, open it where I will find the links in which I need to upload a photo of my DL and follow the steps from there. I verbally had to ask if those were the proper steps in which she was trying/not trying to say. She confirmed then. It was just really strange that she did not try or attempt to help or give direction. Usually from my observation; businesses love to inform new customers of the procedure in which they work. Maybe not all the same; but one way or another i thought the goal was to have the customer come back? I finally got my vehicle and was on my way. My understanding, based off no help, was when I was finished to return the vehicle. I called to confirm this step. I called directly to the location I rented from and told them I should arrive at 7, maybe a little after. The same lady encouraged me this was the right step, and to come back to return the vehicle at that time. She didn't tell me they would not be there/close and that I would have to return the truck through the online website. I didnt know any of that because she never informed that critical piece of info when i spoke over the phone.. Let alone when I first got thr van.. Unreal.. I was so livid and angry at this point. Feeling like I was just swindled out of more $ (because now i'd have to keep the truck overnight) I could not believe this had happened. Thats a pretty important part of the process I feel most would agree with. I ended up calling customer service where the gentlemen was of real help. I explained my frustration and the dialogue leading up to then. He helped me return the vehicle, with clear and direct steps. And was nice enough to make a note explaining the situation, so I would not be charged more. In the end it took an additional 48 frustrating minutes. I had a huge headache after. The van says rent me for $19.95 a day, but there are a lot more hidden costs. The company ought to be more transparent with this. They do not tell you about the almost 1.00 per mile they charge. Its not even close to 19.95. I paid close to $150(not including fuel, top tier~ $2 a gal) to use a van for less than 8 hours. Originally estimated to cost more (thank god it didnt) but I think its pretty ridiculous and outrageous overall. Especially having driven under 300 miles. I may have felt better and more justified had the employee had a clue as to how to do her job and be informed on the company procedures and steps, you know be of real help. Im still dumbfounded over the interaction. Sadly, there probably won't be a "next time" with these guys again.

stop the phone use when in store for verification it is not convenient if a picture of DL is required then do it in the store and not with the phone
