We did not make a reservation for Shamrock but instead reserved and wanted to pick up in Amarillo. When we got to Amarillo, there wasn’t a truck because a previous renter had not returned it. We had to drive all the way to Shamrick (90 miles one way and then pretty much drive back to get to Dalhart) to get the truck. They said the truck should be in Amarillo on Wednesday if we wanted to pick up there. But we had planned, scheduled people to help us move, and needed to move for our jobs that day... So we drove to Shamrock and had to pay for gas to get there and back and also pay for gas for the U-Haul that we hadn’t planned on paying for. U-Haul gave us an extra day, which we didn’t need, for all the trouble and extra expense. When I called U-Haul.com and explained, they transferred me to scheduling. Tammy, with the West Texas Regional office in Abilene was one of the rudest people I’ve even spoken with. She kept cutting me off before she heard the whole story saying that she saw that I was given a truck in Shamrock. I already knew that. She said there was absolutely nothing that could be done and I’d have to file a complaint after I returned the truck. So here’s my complaint. While I understand that it really wasn’t U-Haul’s fault that the truck wasn’t back, it would have been nice if there had been a credit on my card for the extra money spent traveling to and from Shamrock I was pretty upset with U-Haul but decided to call scheduling again and got Elaine who was much nicer then Tammy, she listened and said she could give me a $50.00 reservation guarantee credit. She made me feel that maybe U-Haul does care about the company name and reputation. So overall not a great experience, took WAY more time to get truck, and we lost loading time and spent WAY more to get our truck, but Shamrick people were nice and the truck did the job we needed it to do. Turned in Sunday because we didn’t need it Monday hoping some other people would not have to go through what we did.

Diana CThe location that I picked up and dropped off were fine but I made a reservation in Amarillo and they made me drive 90 miles to go pick up the truck without any compensation whatsoever.
