Unfortunately, the person who used the van before Me had spilled cleaning supplies on the floor. I had to use cardboard boxes to prevent the liquids from staining my furniture. Aside from this the customer service was fantastic and I will be renting another van or truck this week.

Didn't reserve the truck I requested, and was only notified of this 12 hours out. I had to settle for a smaller truck which required me to make 3 separate trips while moving. Will not be using u-haul in the future.

Initially there was some confusion on which van I was getting. That wasn't so bad but the second van was brand new, great, It was parked tightly against a wall so I was unable to walk around and completely confirm no unforeseen damage. The real problem was the fuel gauge. My sheet of paper indicated 3/8 fuel capacity. When I got in and started the vehicle it was well below a 1/4 tank. How do you rent a van with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel?

Need to improve customer service at Stamford location. I was directed to the Stamford location by UHaul because that location had the size and kind of trailer I needed for our 1987 Mercedes. When I arrived they said they didn't have one that would fit the car. I explained that the car wasn't included on the online drop down list - but two other model designations of exactly the same size and weight (literally just different engines) were, so the car would fit. Rather than work to understand this and to provide effective customer service, ‘policy' was cited as a reason they couldn't help me. No effort went into trying to help me. I was both frustrated and my time was wasted, and the staff were completely dismissive. I had to call several UHaul numbers to ultimately speak with Hitch Services the next day myself to work out the problem - which was in fact a mistake on the UHaul website. I was then challenged again by your staff member at Stamford UHaul - rather than being helped - when I presented the information Hitch Services shared with me over the phone. With tones of annoyance and disrespect for me as the customer, the staff reluctantly called Hitch Services and learned that in fact the car could indeed be transported on the trailer that had been on the lot the night before. Beyond wasting a considerable amount of my time, the staff at this location treated me without the respect and professionalism I've experienced at other locations over the years. A disappointing experience overall, especially when I'm spending a significant amount of money as a customer.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. I understand that it's hard to deal with customers who are naturally more stressed out then normal because they are moving but that's all the more reason to be more understanding to customers complaints and concerns.

Drop off was terrible one person available an actual doing work! I follow signs drop off told pull around I do just that. Person comes out can pull around and back into spot. Three attempts I should pull up Wait and unhook and go. Not my responsibility to shuffle equipment around your yard.

I asked for two extra hours, which means the equipment was due at 7:45 pm instead of 5:45. When I checked my account, it said it was due the next day at 9 am. I was very happy about that, being tired from all the moving. I returned the equipment before 9 am, only to learn that U-Haul used this misleading tactic to charge me double for everything. Never again. Also, not all employees were properly masked during a pandemic....

The uhaul check-in process has a major flaw ! I am a frequent renter of uhaul trucks . When I return a uhaul vehicle , I want to know what the final charge is and I ask for a receipt . But sometimes you tell me that the system is down and just say that you will email me a receipt . AND THEN YOU OVERCHARGE ME !!! Because I am no longer there in front of you to speak up for myself . Case in point - when I rented my most recent truck , I only put 6 1/2 miles on it . Before returning it , I put $5 gas in the tank . And then , when I was gone you charged my credit card for gas used . This does not build trust --- a customer should be immediately given his final bill if he or she requests it . Not just an email a day or even two later . When they are no longer in a position to clarify any errors or discrepancies .

A few areas for improvement (1) the APP for picking up and for self drop off doesn't work. It wasted time and caused me about 30 minutes to drop off the truck because the 2 attendants were completely unhelpful

I was overcharged for an extra day of rentaland insurance for the day after equipment was returned. Despite numerous phone calls to local Uhaul office (25 Jefferson Stamford, CT) which were not answered (but answered by Uhaul national) I have yet to receive a call from local office..
