Wow ðŸ˜¯ R & S Automotive in Atchison Kansas was super great. Wonderful people. My wife & I had a flat tire on our new car before we got there. We called and they waited late for us on a Saturday !!! The garage smelled great so guess what - the U-Haul truck was clean , smelled great also and was a joy to ride in for 400 miles. Did I mention it was CLEAN. Nice. Don't get me wrong it looked like a garage but boy were they nice people. I make a trip there every year and I will ALWAYS get my U-Haul at R & S Automotive. Signed Big Daddy GGarry Y.

The truck is dirty inside. It was raining outside and he was trying to put stickers on it was previous damage he couldn't get them in stick. And I pointed out Previous damage and he didn't even attempt to put stickers on. No other way to document previous damage except for the little stickers in the pictures like that.John H.

When I got the truck the driver set belt did not work. When I went to drop it off in lathrop mo. The drop off was not were the e uhaul equipment was and there was not any place to drop off the key so I locked the key in the truck and then you rep on lathrop charged me $65 for a lock smithDavid H.
Make sure to clean the inside of the truck. I have never received a dirty truck before this and I swept it out before returning it as well (I was taught to respect things that I did not own). Otherwise it was good.Helena T.

Takes your employees forever to answer the phone. 3 different times calling and I was on hold for 3 plus minutes. Then the lady on the phone said I was supposed to be returning my trailer to Denver, Colorado when my paperwork showed Atchison, KS. The last 2 phone calls I made, the ladies weren't very polite. Very short and not very friendly.Cherlynn M.
The operator of this location was nice but suffered from a lack of equipment which is obviously a company wide problem. I made a reservation two weeks in advance, less than 1 mile from my house, and got a call the night before to tell me my trailer would not be available at the time I had "reserved" it. At that time I was given the option of getting one 6 hours later which is 4 hours later than I had planned on leaving with a fully packed trailer. I called another location, a little farther away and was told they would have a trailer at the time of my original "reservation" so I cancelled my former "reservation" and made this new one. I asked the lady who made this "reservation" for me exactly where they were located and she told me a landmark I recognized. I asked her if she was at that physical location and she told me yes she was. Within minutes of finishing that call I was contacted by the Wicked Witch of the West(u-haul customer service rep) and was told the trailer I just confirmed less than 5 minutes earlier was not available, and that I had just spoken to a person in Arizona, not Misouri. I was then told by Ms Personality that I could drive to Atchison Ks, 30 miles away and pick up a trailer. I asked why they required a "reservation" in advance if I did not in fact have any equipment actually reserved. To my surprise I was told the "reservation" was so that when your "reserved" equipment is not available at your desired location close to your home, they would know where to start looking for a place in the middle of nowhere to send you to get the equipment I thought was promised when I made my "reservation". U-Haul obviously uses a different definition of "Reservation" than the rest of the business world. If I reserve a rental car from any number of companies, the car I reserved is actually at the location at the appropriate time that the reservation states. If I reserve a hotel room that room is available at the place and time stated on my reservation. I guess by now you have determined that I consider my U-Haul experience sub-optimal and will consider every other available option when the need arises for rental equipment. When you are in a situation that requires you to move for what ever reason you are already stressed and the aforementioned string of events just adds to that stress. By the way, the trailer had one tire that kept losing air which I had to repair mid trip as I was determined to NOT seek the help of your phenomenal customer service representatives. Hopefully the next customer will have a better experience than I did .James V.
I received a phone call and text message 24 hours prior to pick up date/time that the vehicle I had rented online was not available at the location I had requested/booked. I then had to drive an additional 40 minutes to get the uhaul truck - which was out of my way - and inconvenient. The Uhaul team was kind enough to give us additional milage and time on the rental - but the inconvenience of getting to/from the site was a major issue for us. If you show a truck available online at a site - we want that site - not have to make changes at the last minute - very unprofessional and inconvenient. My husband was ready to cancel the reservation because of the changes.Diane N.
