My overall experience was horrible. The bright spot were the guys and their customer service at the Chinden location. The online check in was clunky and made my rental frustrating and delayed. The online reservation was pointless because I was contacted and told that even though I had a reservation you couldn't guarantee me a truck, then left me hanging until the last minute, and I had to go to a different location to pick up the truck which cost me an additional 40 miles. I will avoid using u-haul in the future.

Both my pickup location and drop off location were changed last minute by Uhaul. I had to go 15 miles out of my way to pickup the Uhaul from a different location from my initial reservation. They said they ended up not having my truck I need to go elsewhere last minute. And same problem with drop off I was called and told my original drop off is full to go somewhere else.
Better customer parking
I rented a car hauler and could not be more pleased with the equipment, the price and the service. I'm a fan and recommend U-Haul for a top notch experience.

There is a gal that works there that has an attitude. Such a smart ass. All the guys that I have had to deal with including the yard are so very nice. HOPE she disappears soon.
The lady that helped me was just rude. Wasn't friendly, wasn't helpful. The guy in the building acted like I was annoying him by dropping off the trailer. I will never rent a uhaul or take back to this site. I have used this site before and they were unfriendly and unorganized, I figured it was an â€œoffâ€ day. It was not a pleasant experience, dropping off the trailer. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this site.
These guy's took care of my reimbursement with no problem.
Three times I had guarantees from staff of U-Haul that my initial card would not be charged for the extra miles and time, instead I was reassured three times by three different employees that I could substitute a payment at the counter during checkout. This was VITAL to the operation of my personal business and my overall moving budget. This was a very expensive move, all out of pocket. Every dollar was budgeted and intentional. The initial rental cost $1800 which I had intentionally set aside in my regular "bill-pay" checking account. The finances of this account are very intentional. There were unplanned additional miles and days. We encountered snow and ice in Wyoming including the major interstate being shut down. The original mileage estimate was also incorrect, which I discussed on the first day with a representative from the 800 number who assured me that I could settle the difference in person and avoid having extra charges applied to this particular account. The amount of the charges has never been contested. It is the payment method which, again, I repeated stated to every representative of U-Haul during this process. During the highway closure, knowing that I was again incurring more fees, I was again assured by an 800 number representative that I could settle at the counter and avoid paying fees on this account. I was traveling cross-country while running my business at night in hotel rooms. There was no way to add money to that account while I traveled. I had intentionally begun the trip with the correct amount to cover my normal and projected expenses. When finally I arrived and checked in the vehicle with the outdoor check-in attendee, I was told that I would be able to pay most of it indoors by cash, and that the charges would be "held" so that it could be sorted out. At the counter, there was only one representative, the manager Tim. I expressed my concerns with him. I had a fistful of money to give him. He dismissed it. He told me very specifically that I would not be charged for the extra amounts. The dollar amount was completely different than the estimates I had heard over the phone or from the outdoor check-in guy. This was unexpected, and now I know that it was a miscommunication due to having two separate contracts for each of the truck and trailer. I explained that I was already paying $1,800 for the rental and that was part of the budget of that account, and the $600 or so additional for the trailer was also part of that account. I know about $350 in added charges, but was never informed that I had $750 extra for the truck and also $150 extra for the trailer which were unplanned, unexpected charges. The account in question is a regular monthly bill-pay account. I specifically and clearly discussed with multiple employees of U-Haul that I COULD NOT have another charge on this particular account. I had an envelope of cash. I had a card which could access an untapped recent paycheck. Every employee assured me that I could choose the method of payment at the counter. Tim the manager told me when he heard my concerns that "I will not let that happen." Yesterday I awoke to the extra $750 deduction in my bill-pay account. There is no way to EFT money over fast enough to cover that amount. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Garden City lied to me, and it is now costing me personally to the tune of several soon-to-be unpaid bills, and who knows how many $30 overdraft charges. The cost of doing business with U-Haul is too high. The rental itself in total ended up being about $3,025.48 before fuel expenses, and now I'm looking at another $200 to $300 dollars in fines and fees due to the negligence and dishonesty of the representatives. Yesterday I attempted to reach this delivery location multiple times during the day. I am using other people's phones since my was damaged during the move. They do not answer the phone at this location, it only goes straight to the 800-number. The 800-number tells me that I need to talk to the location, the location doesn't answer the phone and sends me to the 800-number. Repeat. I have asked for return contact by email and been left wondering. It's a clean system for dismissal. Last night I spoke to three separate 800-number representatives and received three separate answers on what to do. Unfortunately I do not have "two to three business days" to wait, guys. Yesterday was the day. Now I'm going to have to invoice U-Haul Moving & Storage of Garden City for the extra costs they chose to incur. I had multiple representatives with very clear communication telling me a story, and then after the charges were made that story changed to "just wait." I will never use U-Haul for any service again. Now I will have no choice but to register contested charges with my financial provider, which is the truth. At every single point of contact I discussed this with U-Haul employees. Every one of them lied to me openly and I will not pay the cost of those misunderstandings and misdirections.
If the drop off location isn't available let people know before they rent. I was informed when I was at the drop off location which was already 30 minutes away that I had to take it to another place that is 2 hours from my place. The told me I would receive a 50 dollar rebate which I still have not received. 50 dollars barely covers my gas no to mention loosing 2 days. Not happy at all.
Moving to Idaho I've had to use this particular store a lot. Every time I'm there the staff are always courteous and very professional. I'm very pleased with this store.
Noticed Gas tank was not full when I was driving away. Reported this and was told I needed to point this out at time of rental. They could not help since I was responsible for checking the gas and mileage before I drove away.

Shortly after pulling away i realized that the mileage on contract was exactly 30 miles less than what was on truck (78225 on contract and 78255 on truck). I called and explained that i am honest person and would not try to cheat them out of what was due but this was situation. They understood and trusted me. I brought back clean and full of fuel and thanked them for being good business people. Highly recommended. Nice folk.

Ordered a dolly and furniture cart and never was able to get them but was still charged for them. Also, ordered my vehicle from a different location and showed up to find out I had to go 45 minutes away to get the truck.
WAY OVERPRICED!!!!!!!!!! I have used U-Haul probably 10+ times in the last 15 years to move or move stuff. Twice in the last two months. Typically you guys have been reasonably priced. However lately it's been astronomical. Roughly $50 to borrow a Chevy truck for a couple hours? That used to be what I paid for 17 foot truck for the whole day. Yea, I wont ever do that again from you guys. Unfortunately for the first time I will be shopping around next time I move or need to rent a truck, which as you can see, is more often than the average person.
The employees inside the store are amazing but don't count on roadside Assistance to give up their weekend to come and help you if you need help because they won't show up until Monday afternoon to fix the problem
Trailer was horrible to pull. I've used uhaul before for the trailers but have never had an issue with how the trailer followed behind. Noisey

You have great vehicles and great staff but they seemed to struggle with your computer system and they may need upgraded hardware? It's the only thing that I can think of that would improve things, faster software and computers.
Just the per mile charge sucks, the proximity for the move was a good distance and expensive
