I went to a U-Haul in downtown Bremerton, WA to pick up a trailer since no one was answering phones. They were very helpful, although they didn't have what I needed they called around and found me one not too far away. Upon arrival at the Brownsville U-Haul, I was greeted and set up very quickly with the trailer. They were very personable and had me on my way within 20 minutes. Great people, Great Service!!

Location was adequate, but you need better inventory further West, into the peninsula (Sequim, PA, etc.). Also, getting in contact with UHAUL telephonically, was very difficult.
I will never use U-Haul.com ever again to make any reservations I need. I called the trustworthy people Kairos Project U-Haul to schedule my truck rental. They have been straight forward about the whole process and my reservation stayed with them and not through the untrustworthy U-Haul.com website. Always contact the local U-Haul retailer in your area and NEVER USE U-HAUL.com !!!!

The Staff at the Brownsville U-haul were very nice and knowledgeable and the equipment was prepped and ready to go ahead of schedule. The truck was fine, no issues with the truck, but the trailer, on the other hand, did not have tires with sufficient tread to make the +1,000 mile journey I rented the equipment for. The tires on the driver side of the trailer were worn down to the wear beads, and the passenger side tires had visible dry-rot & cracking with little more tread than the driver side. These are things I feel should be caught and corrected by the U-haul staff prior to loaning out the equipment to the next customer. These issues with the trailer were not noticed by me until I was loading the trailer later that afternoon and making my final inspection to get on the road early in the morning. The tires appeared to be good as viewed from the side, but once the fender was dropped for vehicle loading and the tires could be viewed more clearly, it was very apparent they were worn and in need of replacement. This prompted me to take a closer look at the passenger side tires, which revealed the dry-rot/cracking. On Wed 19Aug I picked up and loaded the trailer, noticed the issues, and called 1-800-GO-UHAUL only to be put on hold for 20+ minutes with a recording (repeating every 30 seconds) about "if you need immediate assistance go to uhaul.com/help to submit a ticket for a more rapid response." I found this extremely frustrating, so while on hold I submitted a roadside assistance ticket for the tires. I was still on hold upon completing the online roadside assistance request so I hung up. I received a text from U-haul about 30 minutes later. This was infuriating, I couldn't reach someone on the phone but I could get action through the internet...I guess I was lucky to be in an area where I had data service and a smartphone with the ability to submit a trouble ticket online. I find it ridiculous I couldn't reach help via phone but I could get help via internet/website. The text stated some "I can send someone for the 1 tire and have the provider check the others to see if they are still good." I then received a phone call from U-haul about an hour later stating a technician will be out at 0630 the next morning to replace all 4 tires. I told the telephone operator I will be outside by the truck/trailer waiting for the technician by 0600. The next morning at 0655 nobody had arrived. No phone call, no text, no email. I sent a text out to the U-haul assistance number stating no one has arrived to fix the trailer tires, and I was looking for an update. I then proceeded to call 1-800-GO-Uhaul again only to be put on hold with that super repetitive recording for approx 10 minutes before receiving a phone call from a U-haul representative. She (Leslie) was very nice, and was able to get in touch with the technician that was supposed to be there to fix the tires. Leslie put him on a 3-way call with me, U-haul Rep (Leslie), and tire service provider. According to the service provider he tried to call and text me the night before and that morning but he said he couldn't get in touch with anybody. I found that to be false since I had no missed calls or texts from anybody in the 11hrs since I put in the trouble call. The technician proceeded to tell me he was 60 miles away and would need to drive to me (1hr), remove the wheels/tires (30 minutes), take the wheels/tires back to his shop 60miles away (1hr), replace the tires (45minutes), drive back to me 60 miles (1hr), and install the wheels/tires back on the trailer (30 minutes), then I could get on the road (approx 4hrs 45min later). Not only could U-haul not contract a tire repair closer than 60 miles even though there are 13 tire centers within 15-20 minutes of my location to include Wal-Mart tire center, Big-O-Tires, Les Schwab, Discount Tires, and more, but then the service provider suggests to help save me some time I just drive the equipment with tires in poor condition 60 miles to his shop for the replacement, already wasting an hour of my valuable travel time with seemingly no other options to get this repaired in a timely manner and my extremely displeased state of mind. I drove the 1hr 15minutes to the service provider. Once there, I was greeted promptly and directed where to park the truck/trailer for repairs. Once parked the service provider informed me he did not have the tires to replace the ones on my unit but they could cannibalize 4 "better" tires from another trailer to get me on the road faster. After inspection of the tires/wheels to be cannibalized from the other trailer, those tires had approx 50-60% tread life remaining. I agreed to the tire/wheel swap and 30 minutes later I was on the road. It is infuriating I had to drive 1hr & 15 minutes to get a repair done that should have been done prior to the equipment being rented to me. It is also disturbing to think that Uhaul and Uhaul locations do not more carefully inspect equipment prior to sending it out on the road. I am not your average Uhaul customer. I have an extensive background in mechanics, cars, trucks, and towing. An average person that would have rented this same equipment probably would have never looked at the equipment as closely or had the knowledge to diagnose those tires were not suitable for a +1,000 mile trip and had a high potential for a tire blow-out while on the highway. The liability of the these events and potential events I helped prevent is unimaginable from any business in my opinion, the potential for a major accident on the highway due to one or more of these tires failing on the freeway was very high. At this point, I feel a discussion about compensation should be had for my time that was wasted, my safety that was taken for granted, and the potential accident that was prevented only by my knowledge of vehicles, and not your professionals.

I was charged for the dolly and moving blankets. We never received any of those. No one was at the office during the day and we brought back our vehicle early. Is there a way to get a reimbursement for the dolly and blankets and the smaller amount of time?

Everyone at this location is amazing and has GREAT customer service. Very friendly and down to earth. Check in was easy, we were out the door in less than 10 minutes and everything was quick when I returned the vehicle. I would definitely use this location again!
