Person added coverage at a cost of 30.00 that I declined during my online reservation. I called him this morning and he said I had to contact you directly that it would come off as I did so as he couldn't do anything. I saw him clicking on something when he checked me out and he never asked me to check acceptance of anything. Not very transparent.

The mobile pick up process (nothing to do with the location) is a nightmare. I will never use it again unless it's improved.

I had 5 empty water bottles in the front and broken glass in the back. The mirrors were useless and safety hazard. The passenger side mirror moved out of position on the highway!!! The drivers side door can't be opened from the outside, inside only.

The truck I was supposed to rent was not there at the time it was supposed to be. Had to wait and then was give. A larger truck in its replacement .

I arrived at 9am to pick up for my 9am reservation. I was called "sweetheart" and told that it wasn't Disney World and I had to wait 45minutes to try check out my uhaul. I also was billed for fuel despite filling the tank to the level it was when I picked it up.

I received the truck with 3/4's gas. Recorded gas was 7/8's full. The truck was returned with a full tank. Recorded on my contract was less than 7/8's. I was then charged $14 for gas which is a scam. Absolutely false. Shady business, would not recommend this location.

Very disappointed that after reserving at Newport RI location, I was re-directed to Bristol, RI. Took me 45 minutes in traffic to get there, took over an hour to rent truck (they said U-haul computers were down and I couldn't have it, at first) and another 45 min back to Newport. When I passed the Newport U-haul, they had 3 -15' trucks out front! How do you explain? Wasted nearly 3 hours.

The rental location was very accommodating, considering the rental truck I ordered never arrived. UHaul was contacted directly by me regarding the problem throughout the day and the rep was very nice, but the only thing she could do was offer a $50 late delivery credit. When the truck never arrived after waiting for 4 hours, the UHaul rep found another truck 20 miles away, but told me I had to find a way to get to it. UHaul policies are very poor - they should provide a credit for travel to a new site if the customer's vehicle fails to show up. Why should the customer have to foot the bill for travel via cab or otherwise if the designated site for pickup fails to have a truck ready to go? Also, you should increase your penalty for renters who fail to notify UHaul of their intention to keep the truck beyond their time of return. By simply allowing the person to hold the truck and charging them an additional day does not provide much incentive to return the truck as per their rental agreement. I cannot rent from UHaul again given that this situation. I will state again that both the UHaul pick up site (a private auto repair shop - the owner was terrific and really felt bad for the situation) and the UHaul rep (again, very nice and no complaints on her approach) were very polite, but neither had the tools at hand to get this taken care of correctly since UHaul policies seem to put the customer picking up the truck at greater risk than the person who fails to return the truck on time. This could have cost me several hundred dollars if I hadn't booked the truck one day before I actually needed it. Your policies are terrible for handling a situation like this. $50 credit might be reasonable if a vehicle is briefly delayed, but a no show should be handled far more quickly, including a policy of either getting the customer a ride to a new UHaul location (or paying the cab fee) where a similar truck exists or bringing the truck to their designated pick up. 4 hrs waiting and on the phone with your company when this could have been resolved in half the time or less.

The lead in Brristol truly helped us with configuration issues, ie needing a different hitch ball, reversing the set of the trailer bar from high to low for better tow. Great job for a very small Uhaul location that isn't equipped like the big ones are. Showed off everything great about small town Bristol RI!

First of all, I made the reservation at a Uhaul closest to me that I trusted but was expected to travel 45 min to pick up the only available 4x8 in the area. We were given a really bad trailer for a cross country trip when we arrived. The tires had little to no tread and the door popped open on the way home from picking it up. Because we were 18 we thought there was nothing to do about it and that we would deal with it on the way from RI to FL but when our parents saw the state of the trailer they went to Uhaul to rectify the situation. After arguing and waiting we were upgraded to a bigger and better trailer for no extra charge.

At first - they did not offer any assistance with the hitch or trailer. When we asked though - they complied. We thought they automatically assisted with hooking up the hitch and lights etc. So because we had to ask for assistance I felt the service was average.

The hitch size wasn't properly specified. The person looking after the independent dealership didn't know exactly the size supplied. I specified that we need 2" 5/16 and he insisted that the bustruck it was ok. Hitch sizes not LABELED at the van. I drove 250 miles to discover that it wasn't 2” 5/16, it was 2". Drove 50 miles extra to get into a UHAUL dealership. The only one alternative it was to rent out truck. SO I did. Drove 500miles with the truck to accomplish the task while I left the bustruck parked at the dealership at SARATOGA , NY. Then I returned the truck at SARATOGA and I took back the bustruck given in Bristol, RI and returned to the dealership where it was originally rented out putting an extra 250 miles on it to avoid any related fee to leave the bustruck abandon in a different location. I have 2 contracts to pay for now. I called 6 times already to the 1800, nobody seem to know what the situation is. No one can give me a case #. No one seems to care or even say a simple “I’m sorry for the problems you gone trough”. The manager at this district “Mr. Craig…” that lacks of any diplomacy to deal with the problem said on Sunday they will call me to work something out. Almost t 8pm, and still waiting and rigging again….. Called again, nothing.... they put me trough answering machine and the communication gone lost.
