I had reservations to pick up a truck before the store opened using a phone which were mysteriously canceled. I asked an employee cleaning vans to help me and he said there was nothing he could do until the store opened in an hour so I sat in the parking lot for 1.5 hours to get my truck

Is was a super easy and quick process. The lady at the counter was very nice. Everything was explained before I left and on the return I was greeted y the assistant manager and I was on my way. Quick service and nice people!

I have filed a formal complaint to dispute dishonest billing and rental return practices and will also be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. Everything was fine with the process until after I left the Uhaul center following rental return. A manager called me to tell me that I am being charged an additional $150 due to alleged damage that was not there at the time of return. Also - there was apparently a mistake in the rental rate that caused another $55 to be charged. So when I left, I agreed to pay the $228 that was outlined on my receipt. An hour later, an additional $205 was charged against my account... that's a total of $433 for a two-day rental with a van that I returned in impeccable condition. I am fighting this and will also be telling all my friends, family members and entire social media network to use Budget, Enterprise or any rental company OTHER than Uhaul for their future moving needs. This is the second incident of dishonesty and unfair charges that I have encountered with Uhaul over the past 3 months. I let it go without comment the first time but will not do so a second time.

I returned that van with the fuel gauge exactly where it was when I rented it. I drove it maybe 50 miles and put close to 4 gallons in it before returning it. I was charged $6 for 1.5 gallons of fuel! Ridiculous! It may seem like a diminimus amount to you, but it’s the principle, and I won’t rent from you again.

My problem was dropping off the vehicle after hours. I was trying to do the online return to save their $20 return fee. I sat in the truck for about 1 hour trying to navigate the online return, with no luck, so I called the U-Haul number. I kept trying the website while I was on hold, and then I noticed my last name was spelled wrong which explained why I was having the problem. The irritating thing is I was on hold for 42 minutes, and no one ever answered the phone. I called this morning to ask about it, and I was told that all offices are shut down at 7:00PM, so I could have held on for 2 hours, and no one would have answered. No where in the contract does it say not to call after 7:00PM. U-Haul should be reachable 24 hours a day, whenever a person is using a rental. It ended an otherwise good experience with me being extremely angry.

Picking up through the app was a pain in the butt. It was supposed to be quick and easy, but it took forever for it to verify after I put in all my info and took photos of myself and my license. I finally went inside to have the clerk check me in instead after the guy told me it could take a half hour to verify. I don’t remember being warned of that when I signed up or I wouldn’t have done it. But inside took longer too, because he had to start the process all over again and give me a different truck than the one reserved by the app. I had to shift all my stuff, to another one after I had been sitting in the first one waiting for the app. The new van they gave me was soaking wet inside and had puddles where you load your things. They had just cleaned it, which was nice, but I was about about to load all my stuff in there. So I had to go back inside and wait in line again. They offered to put down a packing blanket, but I just wanted a dry one. He wasn’t sure there was another one available. I said “how about the original one I was in?” But he didn’t know how to do that so I had to wait for the manager to help me. The employees were very polite and helpful, but the process was frustrating. It took almost an hour to pick up the rental! The app was great for dropping off after hours though. That part was much quicker.
