There was a beer in the cab of the truck and scary customers were bothering me and i left my wallet and ive called several times with no answer and they did not communicate about the gas just the mileage i got charged 2 fuel charges

Ian WThis place is one of the worst! I have been a customer with U-haul for years now. I have rented multiple trucks, rented u-boxes, as well as a storage unit over the years and I've never had any complaints up until now. This location that offers uhaul services is a gas station, has one small sign at the enterance which you can easily miss while taking a turn, and there were no other signs or any u-haul trucks parked there, no indication whatsoever that they are associated with u-haul. This is a new town for me, I've never been here before so I chose this location for my drop off as it was showing the closest to me. I did't even realize it that it was a gas station. Anyway, when I went there, I didn't see any drop boxes or signs, so I went into the store and asked the store clerk. He didn't seem very friendly, he asked me to go back to my truck and take a picture of the dashboard and bring it back to him. I didn't mind, but I knew this is something their supposed to do at their end and not ask the customer. I went to my truck took a photo and showed it to him, he said, that's not what he wants, there should be button ton the dashboard o change the readings. I went back out, looked for a button, there wasn't any so I went back in and showed it to him again in the photo. He said very rudely that there should be one and I need to figure it out myself. Mind you, it was 104 degrees out, I had my dog with me and this mofo is sending me back n forth for something he is responsible for. While I was trying to figure this out, he finally came out to see it himself at the truck, he took the photo of what he needed and rushed back into the store asking me to lock it and bring him the key inside. When I took the key in, he said, he will forward this information to his boss who will process the return and I should receive an email confirmation in about 15 mins. This was around 5PM. My rental was due by 7:30PM. I never got a confirmation, I called back around 6:45pm, the same guy answered the phone told me he has forwarded the information to his boss, noted my time and everything and he doesn't know when he will process it and he hung up the phone on me. I reached out to Uhaul customer service, the first girl name Lucy, told me I should have done a self return, she couldnt help further as i had already turned my keys, gave me the impression as this could be a scam. I contacted u-haul again around 7PM, spoke to another agent name Ashley, she submitted my photos of the truck with location shown in the back, dashboard with full tank, told her what happened, she said she's noted everything and I'll get a call from uhaul within 3 days. I asked her to put a note for them to not overcharge as i had done everything I was supposed to do. She also tried calling the drop off location, didnt get an anwer, she gave me the number, i called multiple times, no one answered. I didn't get a confirmation of the returning this truck until 2 days after. I strongly advise U-haul to terminate their contract with this location. The staff is rude, irresponsible, and unresponsive. There were junkies lingering outside of the store which made me feel so unsafe I would never go back there again. I also read other customer reviews about this location which were also negative.
