Charged 20 dollars for after hours fee when The van was return earlier then needed to and handed keys to a service person at the counter. Not after hours if they are still open and was not told about the 20 dollars till they took it out of my accountJEFFREY N.
I let them know that the ramp was in the back of the truck, and could not be put back into the location it goes. Also, the ramp hook area was not there on the left side and the ramp was not really able to be used. I did let the team know and they were going to "down" the truck so that can be fixed.ROBERT R.
I had a reservation 2 weeks prior to the day I needed truck. I was supposed to pick up at 1030 am. At 9 am I received a call that my truck hasn't come in and wondered if I still needed today. He said he'd find another location asap and didn't call me for over 20 min. I called him back and finally said he'd find one. The earliest was 130 pm 10 miles east of where I started my move. I agreed but then my bf called and asked for a closer location we found on site for 230. We got there and they didn't have my truck which was supposed to be "guaranteed". The place was not a typical uhaul pick up, it was a small business and he worked so hard to make this right but was unable. We finally got a truck at a different, 3rd location at 4 pm. The original dude said I could ask for "reservation guarantee" which would give us $50 credit but the final place wouldn't grant and I need to bring up with original office. Which I plan to do as this was only on Sat may 8th. I get this is a very busy time of year in a very busy year of the housing market but I did not feel u-haul tried to redeem themselves after first error. It was very disappointing and exhausting moving until 130 am in a rush bc of a huge looming rainstorm.Danielle H.
I reserved the truck at the 98th & Michigan location as that is closest to me and our move. I received call the day before pick-up that I had to go to this location (+18 miles each way) and there was no option. The fact that extra mileage was not reimbursed (I asked the agent that called) is rather frustrating, especially considering I lost over an hour of truck use time because of this change.Graydon T.

Was not able to pick up U-Haul until 2.5 hours after scheduled pick up time due to store error. Attempted to contact customer service with no responses. When store was scheduled to be open at 9:00 am, waited 15 minutes and no employee was still available to open the store. Went to another location and they were unable to assist due to payment made to above franchise although no one was available to help resolve the issue. When we walked in there was no employees, two other customers in line, both customers had masks on due to the pandemic. The first employee walks in and has no mask, doesn't put one on and doesn't even have one by her. The second employee walks in after she's waiting on one of the other customers. And he also has no mask. He calls out to the next customer and begins to wait on them. At one point he even came around from behind the counter walking around talking spraying respiratory droplets everywhere no mask. This location is in an area that had elected to continue the mask mandate as cases are in the rise. When I was checked in I was told I'd get a text to rate and dispute the condition of the truck we were getting and after walking around the truck noting some pretty significant damage I still had received no text. So I had to go back inside. While back inside a young woman had come in and the male employee was flirting with her, again unmasked while she was complying with the mask mandate. Telling her to come back by when she's done, he'd be waiting for her. I explained that I still had not received a text and he finally sent me the text I needed. This was a very uncomfortable situation and I purposefully took the truck back after hours to avoid the employees due to the complete disregard for others health. Our truck was old, stuck of cigarettes and was heavily damaged on the outside when we received it. We are pretty sad by our experience this time. And we have used uhaul many times in the past. Next move, we might have to go with another truck rental company.David R.
