I believe this issue to be location specific since I rented a motorcycle trailer about two years ago from a U-Haul dealer on the West side of Kansas City and it went smooth as butter. This time, I reserved the trailer online, provided all of my pertinent payment information and opted for the $14 ins. to cover the cost of the bike and trailer if needed. While taking delivery, the service rep didn't seem to have any of my information and had to collect it all over again. They then apparently wanted three different phone numbers. As a single man with no children, I only have a house phone (No, I do not have a cell phone). When I explained this to the rep, they seemed not to care and just said that it was required and the rental could not be completed without it. I had to leave and come back later with my mothers number and her boyfriends. I then met with a different rep upon returning and he apparently only needed two phone numbers. I will not rent from this location again. It was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional.

The online check in system is horrible. I would have been in and out twice as fast if I would've just used the attendant that was already on site. This is important because you have to keep in mind that when someone rents a Uhaul, they have probably coordinated multiple services to accommodate the move, so time is important. The people who are verifying remotely need to be much quicker with their verification. It took far too long for them to respond and approve the move. Other than that, the truck served its purpose well and the on site attendants were professional and helpful.

I placed my reservation online at another location and when I arrived to pick it up, my 26' truck had been rented to someone else and another 26' truck wasn't available. I was sent to the Blue Ridge location who also didn't have a 26' truck but they did have a 20' truck available. This caused a delay in the start time of my move and also doubled the move time I'd planned for because I had to make 2 trips in the 20' truck because all my items wouldn't fit in the shorter truck. I had to pay more in gas & mileage as a result as well. Another problem with the online reservation system was I was only offered pick up times between midnight & 4:30am....I selected 4:30am because it was the latest time offered and I wasn't permitted to type in my own time. I'm not for sure why the online reservation system had this glitch because the original location didn't even open until 9am. I'm requesting the $50 reservation guarantee refund as a result of my difficulties. I'm not sure I'll ever use U-Haul again. I've had similar problems before. My above review is for the Blue Ridge location and I would give a zero star rating for my original location. Contract #21587578

Thanks for the service and product that was priced at a good value. Thank you for retrieving and holding onto my sunglasses case that I left inside of the truck after drop off return until I could come back and get it. I will use U-Haul again.

I came in on a Sat and was feeling a little anxiety before my move. The guy that helped me was not friendly and did not provide Any customer service beyond the basics. When we got outside to look at the dents, mileage etc. I informed him that the mileage was not very clearly written so I asked if he could write it a little better. He gave me this hateful look and said it's fine very sternly and just walked off from me. Now..since I'm the one that is paying for this the least he could have done was made the 3 look more like a 3 than a 5 to provide me with peace of mind. His name was Austin. I'm sure he is usually a nice guy but he may have needed a Snicker or something that day. The next day I rented another truck because the movers did not finish and Nickolas helped me (guy with a beard). He was Excellent. He explained things I didn't know and provided great service!
