DENNIS G(1) Gurudev is an ARCO gas station I showed up a 9.50 am to pickup my trailer, one single employee on duty, not aware of any reservations apparently the U-Haul’s system was down, employee very rude and overwhelmed by the distraction of the gas station duties take her more than 1 hour to process my reservation, when picked up the trailer no safety pin was available, recommendations from the employee was to go to the location on 4011stockton hill Kingman and get one by myself.
ANDRE BI arrived a few minutes before my scheduled pickup time. The U-Haul location was inside a convenience store, and there was only one clerk handling both the store customers and the U-Haul rentals. I had to wait while she handled another matter before she was able to assist me. Once it was my turn, the check-in process took about 15 minutes, even though I had already entered my information online ahead of time. The online check-in had indicated that contactless pickup would be available, but that was not an option when I arrived. After she showed me the truck, I reminded her that I had also reserved a furniture dolly. She realized it was not available and looked around the store for it. She explained that someone had apparently taken it and not returned it. She offered to contact another location to try to find one, but by that point I was already running behind, so I declined. I returned the truck later that same evening. Again, the same clerk was working alone. I waited in line, and when I was second in line, she announced loudly that everyone needed to leave the store because she had to complete her closing process and lock the doors during that time. I asked whether I needed to come back later, and she said I could either return after she finished or come back the next day. I left, picked up dinner, and returned about 45 minutes later. She advised me that she had removed the furniture dolly charge and completed the return. I handed her the key and left. The clerk appeared to be doing the best she could, but she seemed very overwhelmed and may simply need more staffing or support. Overall, the process was disorganized and inconvenient, especially considering I had completed the online check-in beforehand and expected a contactless pickup. I would not use this particular U-Haul location again.
