I called back to the U-Haul company and talk to Chris, we needed people to help move on the spur of the moment because the movers that we had previously hired never showed at 10 in the morning. Chris's answer to me was that his manager would call me back in about 10 minutes that was somewhere around 20 hours ago and still no answer. We ended up calling friends to help move everything because the movers that were on your website and were contacted the day before to verify that we would have helped never called or showed up. They were contacted about a month ago. On Friday the day before the move they were contacted again to make sure everything was set up.
No room for improvement. Staff very friendly, very helpful, quick and painless. I can rent from a dozen other closer U-Haul dealers, but choose to return to this one. The late hours on Friday are greatly appreciated, even though no one wants to work that late.
Radio does not work. Smelled like old smoke. Not my normal experience from this location.

I used the phone-check out method. It was easy to go through the steps except that I had to wait for about 30 minutes for approval while hanging out in the U-Haul facility and the local representative there could not do anything to help. This is equivalent to spending 45 minutes to check out, which could have been done in 10 minutes in-store.

Truck had broken cable on overhead roll up door and transmission problems. Staff was not concerned with my troubles and one staff member said he saw the cable broken but did not cause any problems for him. I will never rent from uhaul again.
Great rental experience . The attendant was helpful in hooking up the trailer and connecting the lights. On return they unhooked for me. Very friendly and helpful. I use this location for my U-haul rentals because they make it easy.
They changed my card a over night fee for not going on the app to check it back in but nobody told me about this when I checked the trailer out
I have used this location a number of times. The folks working there are polite, courteous, helpful, and will help with whatever you need, and I will use them again. You can also stock up on boxes, packing supplies, etc as they will buy back unopened product, which saves trips. Hat's off to them. My one constructive feedback, not this location's fault, is the Uhaul brand box tape is very poor quality. It tips and tears and should be replaced. Thanks for the help with our moving needs!

Well I had schedule my pick at the Loves Park location but then I was emailed that the truck will need to be picked up at the Loves Park location and the Trailer will need to be picked up at the Rockford location which is about a total of 10 miles out of my way. I ask if they can credit me 10 miles but I was told that I had to call the Uhaul representative. What I don't understand is why couldn't the truck and trailer be picked up in the same place and if not why not credit me the 10 miles. I feel it was a scam to tell you truth to get more money out of me (the customer). This is why I gave you a Average rating. But overall it was a really nice truck and trailer.

When I tried to tell the young man at the counter that I was charged more than I was quoted he told me that was the price and have a good day. He also informed me that uhaul had lots of customers and trucks and didn't need my business while the store manager stood next to him and said nothing. Called corporate and was told someone would call me back about it. Still waiting. Will never rent fro Uhaul again.
I only say no to the last question because Iâ€™d never recommend U-Haul to anyone, after my experience with this rental! Justin Ring is a very nice and helpful manager...BUT nothing could encourage me to ever say a good word about U-Haul! Especially after one of the customer service reps promised to get me compensated for all the problems I went through and the result of that was Absolutely NOTHING!

I rented a 15' truck at the full rate 1 week prior to when I needed it, and I was asked how long I think I would need it. I said approximately 6 hours and thought nothing of it. My wife then saw on the contract that the drop off time was 6 hours from when I picked it up, even though we paid the required 24 hour rental fee. My wife then called the Uhaul 800 number and was told what they did was wrong, and that I paid for a 24 hour rental so I was sent an email showing the drop off the following day, 24 hours later. I returned the truck 6 hours and 20 minutes after picking it up, and was told I had to pay a $50 cleaning charge for being late, yes a cleaning charge!!!! I was told I had to pay the fee because they had another renter for the truck at 3pm, even though I paid the 24 hour rate. I showed the "customer service rep" the updated email allowing me to keep the full 24 hours since I paid the 24 hour rate. Cody, the rep, said he didn't care and was charging me the $50, and smiled at me. I then called Uhaul 800 number and was on hold for 15 minutes. I finally spoke to a rep who said she could not refund the fee but said she would call the store while I was placed back on hold. I walked over to Cody as he spoke to the rep and he told her that he would not refund me the fee while smiling at me, and said several times to the rep, "I'll handle him." After being told by the rep the fee wouldn't be refunded I asked to speak to a manager after another 10 minute conversation that went nowhere. I had to ask several times. Finally I was told the manager was Samantha and that I would have to hold. After 10 or 15 minutes on hold, the rep came back on line very apologetic and was told my $50 would be refunded, and that a report was being generated about Cody and his rude lack of customer service." I was also told there were other trucks available on the lot for rental, so the "fee" was unjust. I will never go to Forest Hills Uhaul again, and will tell everyone I know how bad my experience was. Cody should be removed from his position. His demeanor is horrible as well as his customer service "skills." I felt like I was tricked when asked how long I was using the truck for. I thought the employees were simply making small talk about the move I was making, but really wanted to know so they could re-rent the truck the same day. Horrible tactics. Beware, and be sure to say when asked how long you think you're going to use the truck, say the full 24 hours so you're not charged a fee!!!
