Very disappointing experience, deserving of zero stars. In order of observation: 1. The attendant had not been trained and had to call her boss to help me by phone. 2. The furniture dolly I had reserved was not available. 3. The truck was filthy inside (cab and cargo space); a prior user's belongings were inside, and I worried that my new rug and chair would be soiled by the time I got them home. 4. The steering wheel was disintegrating. 5. The driver's side rear-view mirror could not be adjusted; the passenger-side r-v mirror was falling apart. 6. Neither door would close securely despite multiple attempts; "door open" warning lights were on throughout the rental. 7. The check engine light was on throughout the rental. 8. I was charged a $13 "Safe Move" fee when I had declined coverage in the reservation. 9. I was charged $8.62 for 2 gallons of gas to go 13 miles round-trip (6.5 miles per gal, really?) when I already had paid the mileage charge. 10. All in all, this was the worst rental experience I have had, and definitely not the experience I had come to expect from U-Haul. I felt unsafe in the truck due to lack of visibility due to the mirrors, mechanical concerns due to the check engine light, and physical risk due to the doors not closing properly. At least the seat belts worked. Coupling all of that with the billing surprises? I may give U-Haul another try because I have always found them reliable. But never, ever again from this location.
