The person who managed/owned the store was very chatty. She just wanted to talk instead of get me checked out and on my way. She also talked badly about her employees to me. This was unprofessional.

CAMERON PI rented a truck two weeks in advance for my move from California to Nevada, but the entire experience was a mess from start to finish. First, despite reserving a 20-foot truck, I was notified days before pickup that I’d have to take a 26-foot truck instead. There was no explanation and no apology. This meant higher rental fees, more gas, and a much harder driving experience. On pickup day, things got worse. The doors listed Saturday hours as 8:30 AM, so my wife and I waited outside in the cold. When no one showed, I called the number posted, only to be told those were “summer hours” and they wouldn’t open until 9:00. There was no sympathy and no urgency. Once inside, the representative refused my wife’s valid Nevada DMV temporary license slip, forcing me to use my license instead. Then came system issues. She struggled with the computer for 20 minutes, switched to an iPad, and still couldn’t finalize the rental properly. We were told a receipt would be emailed later, but we never received one. While waiting, she and another employee spoke extensively in Spanish, excluding us from the conversation. It felt unprofessional and dismissive. And the truck itself was not fully cleaned. Empty soda cans were left under the seat. From customer service to equipment to communication, this was by far the worst rental experience I’ve had. I will never rent from this U-Haul location again, and I advise others to look elsewhere.
