Respectively, I was unsatisfied with my U-haul experience. I made a reservation for a 15 foot truck and 3 dozen furniture pads out of Auto Embassy in Columbia on May 28, 2019 for Saturday, July 13, 2019. On July 6, 2019, paid online for my truck and furniture pads. I got a call on Thursday, July 11, 2019 that I would either have to drive to Centralia or Moberly to pick up my truck as there were no trucks available in Columbia. I chose the Centralia location, Roger’s Rentals, and received a confirmation email that the truck would be there. I also called the location to ensure the truck would be available for pick-up, I was told that it would be available. Despite the fact that there was a truck on the lot of the exact size that I needed, the worker at the Roger’s Rentals told my parents there was no truck available. My parents eventually got the truck, but once they got back to Columbia we realized the furniture pads I ordered were not inside the truck. After that, I went to the Auto Embassy location in Columbia to try and retrieve the furniture pads. They informed me that I would have to call corporate U-haul to be refunded for the pads I did not receive, and then I could rent the pads from Auto Embassy -- which I did. I was, however, at Auto Embassy for over an hour. Then, when I returned my truck and furniture pads to the U-haul location at 2101 S. Kingshighway Blvd in St. Louis, I informed them I was returning my truck and 3 dozen furniture pads. Shortly after I left, I received a confirmation for the return of my truck, but never for the return of my pads. I then called the location 5 times (between 9AM and 10:30AM) the next morning to make sure the pads were returned. Because I had received no answer, I went back to the 2101 Kingshighway location before leaving town. The woman there was very helpful and ensured that my pads were returned. Although I was able to complete my rental of the truck and furniture pads, this entire process was very frustrating. I made my reservation online 6 weeks in advance, and I still had to travel an hour round trip to get the truck. Then I spent an hour completing the rental of my furniture pads, and I also had to go back to the return location twice ensure the return of my furniture pads. Suffice it to say, I was not satisfied with my rental experience.

The gate was broken which is a security risk. When I walked in there were people inside shouting and they weren't customers. A baby was running around behind the counter. It was not very professional.

I was charged for moving pads and a dolly when I selected that I did not want or need them. They were left on the truck that I rented from the previous renter I assume. I also never received an email after I sent one explaining the issue.

Whichever representative I talked to on the phone completely messed up my reservation. I requested a location down the street and got the one I rented from. I requested a 2:45 pm reservation and it was booked as 12 pm. The worker at uhaul canceled without a call and when I arrived acted as if it was my fault. The worker was very helpful after but I had a horrible experience based on the person who made my reservation.

Hardly any parking for returned trucks. Also, the return via app was a bad experience - I was getting network errors all the time while trying to upload photos. Whenever I got a network error, the whole process reset. I had full reception on my phone.

Cathy and her employees are very nice folks. They were concerned about helping me with my issues with rising floodwaters. My truck rental and storage rental spot were just what I needed and they were so nice to work with. Excellent job!

Check the system and verify its not overcharging people for the daily rental and adding fees for items conveniently on the truck when you rent it.

The online pickup was long and annoying. At the current design, I would not use again. The amount of time it took to receive approval took over 12 minutes. Plus it required a phone call to my wife to confirm she could be contacted should I not return on time. That said, the online return was quick and painless.

Maybe verify their email address so I'm not getting emails from U-Haul in Missiouri as a Canadian? That is to say I did not use U-Haul recently and certainly did not use it in MO but someone got an email address wrong.

The mobile pick up was a nightmare! I was told it can take up to 45 minutes for approval sometimes. Thankfully the customer service at the Kingshighway location is great and we were able to stay on track with our move.

Your staff guy was great! Very professional, accommodating and friendly. But you need a parking lot! Come on... If you expect your customers to park on the street - then you can’t take up 90% of that with your trucks! I had to park a block away and walk to your facility. I will still come back there next time because of your guy. Tell him thanks.

This location and Cathy Engle are both great. I've rented from them before and if needed, will again. My suggestion for improvement does not involve them but the Uhaul app. Please include an estimated range of time to complete rental verification through the app. It's possible for it to take up around 30 minutes total
