DARREN KAvoid Mirage Motors! This truck was picked up at their location using the 24/7 feature within the U-Haul app (They don't open until 11am) However, at pick up, it was clear that the truck had been in an accident. The front left (driver side) of the bumper was bent and there were several cracks in the fiberglass cowling on the same side. Initially the damage didn't seem so serious, however once I got it home, I noticed that the front left headlight was no longer secure and was now hanging at an odd angle. I called for roadside assistance and it was determined that the vehicle was not road worthy. The cracks in the fiberglass hood were much more serious than initially thought, and the mounting tabs for the headlight were all broken, and the only thing holding the light in place was part of the wiring harness. If the headlight assembly had fallen off, it would have been the cause of another accident as the assembly could have fallen under the front tire and damaged the tire. Clearly there was no inspection of the truck before I picked it up from this location. It should have never been available for use. Because of all the issues, I lost over 6 hours of time in the loading of my belongings and lost $200 in a guaranteed reservation for a hotel that night, as we had to reconfigure our loading to accommodate the lost time. Last, I have not heard from anyone at this location. No follow up and no apologies. Again, avoid Mirage Motors. They should stick to selling cars.
