The after-hours return option was chock-full of problems and while it is meant to save the consumer time and frustration, it actually adds to our frustrations when the service does not work properly. Also, not sure if this is more of an issue with internal systems or with employees not checking notes but the death-trap of a vehicle that I was renting was scheduled to be rented out immediately after I returned it... notes were already in the system about this vehicle NEEDING to be serviced due to dangerous conditions and lack of proper maintenance. It would have been given directly to another consumer if I hadn't insisted that it not be rented out.

you need more people to work the counter area,especially on Saturday And Sundays EARLY hours..Very crowded when i was there to rent a truck with 1 attendant.

first off, it took over an hour to initially rent it. then after i arrived at destination to pick up my vehicle, i had to spend an hour, in the pouring rain, to repair your broken trailer in order to use it. i have rented many trailers from your company, and by far, this was the worse experience i could ever imagine having.

I made a reservation for a 10' trk in person on 10/24 for 10/27. I changed it the next day to 10/28 because of weather. I arrived on time to pu the trk. After waiting 2 hrs in line because the gen'l mgr was the only person doing the pw, I was told there were no trks available and I would have to use a cargo van. This also happened to the 3 people in front of me that had had rsvp. When I left there were 5 10' trks in the yard and they were still there when I returned 3 hrs later. Not only did this delay and not being able to get what I wanted inconvenience the 5 people waiting to help me move 8 pieces of furniture, but entailed getting another vehicle so we could do the move in 1 trip like planned. Why have a rsvp system if your establishments overbook so badly that they can't fulfill them using the stock answer of the fine print "upon availability". One should be able to ascertain if your inventory of vehicles is getting close to being used up for a particular day when you do make a rsvp instead of just taking it and then saying oh well take what we have or leave. Personally, I believe the reason all of us had to take vans was because we were in town and he wanted to leave the trks open of for longer rentals. Gen'l mgr was very cordial and respectful, but that didn't help with at least my frustrating experience.

Make sure that if a person has reservations that were made 1 wk prior that the equipment is there. I made a reservation for 24 hrs for a cargo van and van was not available to me till 8 am next day. Nowhere was i told or does it say if equipment is available. I was guaranteed my van for 24 hrs. Not from 8 am to 5 pm.

Called to reserve a 17footer. Glad I did because it was the last one they had. Prepayment was also a good idea. Truck Was ready and waiting . Did inform them the check engine light came on. 3rd or 4th visit here. Good store.

Even though I reserved online, I had to wait 90 minutes because of the long line at the store. This was ridiculous. Only 2 employees on site.

The service was terrible. I had to wait in line for an hour and a half for a reservation. By the time I got to the front of the line the 15-foot truck I reserved was rented. I will never go here again.

The manager or whoever Mr. Murphy is at the Boston rd location in Springfield Massachusetts has very very poor customer service skills Very rude and assumed I was lying “you’re lying” about me calling letting u-haul know I was going to be late and another employee there, the one I actually spoke to stepped forward and told him I called. Again very poor customer skills, very rude, being a smart-ass and talked to me like I was some sort of criminal and I will never ever rent from this location again along with 8 of us that always rented from there but not after that experience

I was disappointed that l when l returned the truck it was pass the time noted on the paperwork l signed. I wish that had been explained to me. The customer service rep. asked if it would be returned by 6:30 l thought it would have been and his response was no big deal if it isn't. He did say if it is returned by that time he could rent it. So again quite disappointed.

Uhaul staff here is knowledgeable and friendly. The shame is their attention to detail when you return is poor. I was overcharged for my rental, and am still taking steps to resolve. If you have an alternative, go elsewhere.

U-Haul is constantly changing there policy the makes it very inconvenient for the customer to work around. I literally have to sign my life away just to get any equipment, very unprofessional policy. Other companies to not use the same policy that U-Haul tries to implement. As a customer I should not have to prove nor provide additional contact and prove that the contact info is correct. If I was to rent a trailer from United rentals or Taylor rental the process to to obtain a trailer very simple, it’s valid drivers or pay insurance policy, either from yourself or purchasing one. Also it’s unprofessional or U-Haul personal to be taking pictures of my license plate with their personal phone. And last, it was not enough personnel on site. I think Customer should not have to be helping the U-Haul personnel to be attaching a trailer to my truck. U-Haul personal also need to know how to safely contact the trailer to my truck as it was not safely connected and I had to re-connect properly. I will never rent from U-Haul again.
