When I picked up the vehicle, Lisa was extremely helpful. Nothing high level. Just good customer service. After I loaded up the truck (tired), I came back to rent my storage space. No one was inside the building. I called out. I looked around inside and then outside. I called out. I sat down and waited. Eventually, the associate came in. I told him I needed to secure a storage. He told me he couldn't do it, but the manager (Crystal) could. I said ok, can you get her? The associate went back outside and came back a few minutes later to say that Crystal said she was on the phone and that she would help me when she was done. I thought that was rude and very poor customer service, to say the least, but because the associate (didn't get his name) was trying to figure it out, I didn't get upset. I told him I was tired and in a hurry because I still had to unload, return the truck and then get my children from school. He tapped around on the computer, but couldn't do it. Twenty minutes later, Crystal walks in. I then said at least 5 times, "I need a 5'x10' unit." Each time they kept insisting I needed a 5'x5', to which I kept responding "no". The associate asked me to go with Crystal to confirm the size, as though I couldn't count or didn't know numbers. They kept arguing with me about it. I had to ask what was preventing the communication. (I figured this was easily clear, considering I had a 10' truck.) Crystal then stepped in and completed the storage rental, but she was very rude and acted impatient with me like I was interrupting something she preferred to be doing. For example, I asked her where the storage facility entrance was (off Airport Blvd or I-35?), to which she said (pointing at the paper) "the address is right here." Not what I asked or expected to hear. I had just loaded a 10' truck (1 bedroom apt) by myself. I was exhausted and still had the storage half of the move to complete with only an hour to do it. I did it. Then, when I came back to return the truck...no one was inside. I went looking AGAIN. When I found the same associate outside smoking, I asked "do you guys ever work inside?" Not a pleasant experience at all. I would appreciate a response and compensation for this egregious event. Sean Gooden 512-598-8268

The U-haul representative at the desk, when I picked up the truck, extended my rental period by one day at no charge, I suppose as a courtesy, which I thought was nice. However, I was, surprisingly, charged an additional $59.40 for the additional day. Upon attempting to contact the store for resolution, I was stuck in a customer service loop, wherein I had to explain the situation 6 different times and am still awaiting a call back from Todd Utz, manager of the originating store, 48 hours later, as he is the only person, I suppose, who can fix this. Disheartening for sure. Not inclined to use the service again, as my expectation is that I will be overcharged and ignored, again.

The pricing feels misleading to me. The rental tax is a pretty substantial charge for a shorter rental, and it was easy to miss during the rental process. The reason I did not give a lower rating is because the guy that helped me was really good.

There were a lot of miscommunications when it came to extending the reservation or the consideration to extend the reservation. Dot was not very receptive when I said there was a mistake in my initial reservation. She was able to forward me directly to the location so that I could speak with someone but it began to feel very stressful. Overall just not my favorite experience and I've worked with you guys several times within the last few years.

We were overcharged even after I pointed out that the person writing up the contract was planning to charge the higher rate. We reserved a 10' truck but were charged the 15' rate because there were no 10' trucks so a 15' truck was substituted. I pointed out at the time that the contract was being prepared and the person acknowledged their error. They then went on to write the contract at the higher rate.

The staff was friendly but something needs to change about this location. The trucks are run down. Mine stalled out on I-35 twice! When I picked it up it was dirty and out of gas. I was later told it’s because people steal the gas overnight. So put a locking gas cap on it! Or, before the end of day they make reverse pumps, have the staff pump out the gas so that no one can steal it! It’s ridiculous. I rented pads, when I arrived, oh sorry we don’t have furniture pads. Really?! One staff member actually said it’s the worst location she’s ever worked at. I could tell. It sucks

The truck I reserved was not available, but I wasn't informed of that until I showed up to pick up the truck. I paid for 6 pads, but those were not given to me nor were they in the truck once I got to my loading destination. When we called, the location told us that to receive a refund for the missing pads we would have to come back to the location instead of just being able to issue the credit automatically, which was inconvenient because we were returning the truck after hours. The back of the truck was dirty (actual dirt) and had some screws rolling around in it. I have never had problems at this location before and it's convenient, so I'd recommend it to a friend, but would definitely caution the friend to make sure that all additional items (like pads) were there and that the cargo area was clean before they left the location.

Fuel tank was less than half full which I thought a little abnormal. Truck cab was dirty with cigarette ash and litter when collected. Drop off location charged me $25 cleaning fee. I called the drop off location to advise I would not pay the cleaning fee. The telephone number written on my contract to call and confirm a drop off location may have been U-Haul but it was offering AT & T Uverse, drug addiction counselling, etc. during call wait time. Number provided was 1 800 391 3181. Called the number three times and unable to talk to anyone so decided to drop off at the normal location I use. If this is a correct U-Haul number business will be lost with this type of advertising during call wait times.

Would not give a receipt at drop-off. One week later charged credit card for 5 extra days use when trailer was returned on time. Having to go through dispute resolution. Inconvenience the customer when it's the employee's fault.
