Low fuel light was on when I picked up truck. The attendant told me that I would have to put in my own gas, that he didn't have anyone to do it. Trying to find and get to a nearby gas station was difficult in the traffic congestion of the area.

I have used U-Haul many times and have always been happy with the service. However, this time I was extremely disappointed. The customer service at the Broadway location was atrocious, I had many questions about the vehicle return process for the person in the office as I knew I would be returning the vehicle after hours. The only response I got from the woman in the office was to go on the U-Hual website when I got back. I asked for more info about the process to which the reply was simply 'just go on the website'. I figured it must be pretty straight forward and went on my way. Vehicle was great, easy move and then back to the depot. The woman I talked to originally was still inside so I asked if she could check me in to help me avoid a penalty and dealing with the website. She barked back through the key return slot that she could not. She told me to drop the keys and go on the website. So, I did just that. Only to find that in order to return the vehicle online I needed to send pictures of the gas tank and write down the odometer reading. Obviously I couldn't do this without the keys and she want not return them. It was a terrible experience.

Monday, 11/26/18, was a challenging day in Chicago due to snow and ice. Our 15-foot truck’s back door was frozen shut. The two individuals who helped us were amazing, patient, knowledgeable, etc. But they could have used more help on a day like that one!

Have not received final bill by e-mail as promised showing final charges. Gas tank at time of rental showed a little above full. I assumed this was how the gauge read full. I drove truck for only six miles and put in four gallons of gas at a cost of $12; this seemed very unfair.

there was only on person at the counter and one in lot assisting customers. I had to wait 30 minutes before I was seen and got in my vehicle. Also, the attendant did not wait around to see if pre-use data was correct. She said the tank was "full", needle and line aligned, however there was less gas in the tank than full.

I called the day before and asked if I could park my car in the uhaul Lot for the two hours I would use the truck, and the woman said “yes, if there is space.” But yesterday the guy at the desk adamantly told me I could not. He said he was right and the woman was wrong. There was a parking spot open and I saw customers renting vans and trucks going to their cars in the eight or so parking spots. I had to drive around looking for a spot. Had I known I would be denied a spot, my wife would have dropped me off. I think the woman told the truth.

The staff in general were polite, but there seemed to be a miscommunication. Check-in was a hassle. I can wait in line, but when I got up to the counter, the rep was radio-ing the techs outside to put a utility cart in my truck. For some reason this transaction took way too long, till finally someone went outside to look. They were out. I was given the option of a furniture or appliance dolly. I chose the appliance one. Once I was done with paperwork, she said she didn't have the keys, told me to go outside and the techs would have it. This became a whole other ordeal. Till we just went back inside to wait, because it was cold out. Rep did give me an option to extend my return time, but I feel like we were there for an hour just to check in. Also, whatever paperwork handed to me, didn't note the dolly charge or the mattress pad I purchased. He told me my final balance, but I'm not sure if that included the upcharge for the larger dolly, because the one I wanted was unavailable. It would be great if I wasn't charged for the dolly I didn't get. And, the mattress pad comped for my inconvenience. I would like an itemized receipt please.

The help was extremely un helpful and informed me that I could not drop it off there - even after talking to the 800 number - they then stated that there would be an extra charge - personally I think I should get a 100% refund...when I picked up the trailer the enclosed bed was full of sand

1) I made the booking on line and it was very clear what I want. I came noon. The employee started to push me to get more services and equipment, when I refused and show him my order he become very rude and very unpleasant. 2) He increased my charges to over $80, when I asked him why the charges are not the same as in my email I received from U-haul online reservation, he finally changed to the same rates. 3) When I went outside instead 15' truck was standing van (original price $19). I looked on invoice printed by employee and I released that he changed my online order from 15;truck to van (cheaper) 4) I came back and ask why he did this (he was now very rude), and finally changed to the order and price I ordered online. 5) He charged me second time. I asked him to cancel first order. He told me that he can not do it and told me to call next day general manager. 6) I have all documents (both invoices) 7) IT WAS THE WORSE SERVICE I EXPERIENCE IN LAST 5 YEARS OR MORE. When taking from another guy trunk, no please, hello, thank you, returning truck exactly the same. 8) I have my own business and i know what means service. I don't know what training policy U-haul has, but looks like there is no any policy! 9) I want to know WHAT is going to be done to improve your service. 10) I want to return my money. Waiting for response.

When we got the van it was dirty on the outside which made it hard to see if there was previous damage to van and inside was dirty and wet in the back and the cab had coffe drips and previous dirt from customer before us but we had a long drive and the back dryed before we got there and it wasn’t their fault as we asked for a ford van because of the style of van and that was the closest one hopefully not all the vans on the lot were this dirty inside and out that’s important when you rent that your things stay as they are I did like the rubber mat in back it keep our things in place and renting the pads really keep all the things from getting any damage on our almost 500 mile trip would rent it again for sure Jesse was the best he let us use his measuring tape to see what van was right for all our things he was patient and kind it helped us decide which van could carry our odd shape cabinet
