Service and location were awesome with no complaints.. however, the trucks they provide are far from safe. Attempting to do a move in a UHaul with the metals floors in Alaska during the winter is dangerous and not worth it. An alternative would be great!

I have used uhaul on multiple occasions and have never had a problem until now. Uhaul was completely unprofessional. A woman on the Wyoming hotline was getting lippy with me and the messed up my uhaul order several times. I ordered a 26' truck to be called 2 days later saying its unavailable so id have to use a 20'. Then the next day they call to say only a 15' is available. They friday, the day of my move, i call in to make sure everything is still altight and they tell me they dont have any 15' available so id have to use a 10' van. So Thats when i called uhaul and the woman from Wyoming started bad mouthing me. Shes trying to tell me the college road location where we got the truck finally was closed, and i told her i just got off the phone with them. Then the independent rental location called me back and said there was a cancellation on a 26' so i could go get it at the college road location. Yes i ended up with the truck i needed but it was to much of a hassle. They need to get better with scheduling after this incident.

-4 wheel drive or at least studded snow tires for trucks that stay in Alaska. -sync systems so reservations made online are honored with vehicles (other customers had reservations but no vehicle available for them)

There isn't much you can do about this, but it takes some creative driving a ways out of the way to get to the site entrance.

vehicle was in good running condition but headlights were severely out of alignment making it hard to see the road well. Staff was very helpful and friendly and made my experience very good

Truck was not usable . We live in Alaska and it did not have winter tires. We wasted our time and money as we had to unload our load and take the truck back due to no traction on truck's tires. We did get the fee refunded and we paid for the mileage and gas. However I still feel it was a waste of time and money since we were unable to move our load with the vehicle. The truck shoukd not have been rented out without proper tires for Alaska. Upon returning vehicle my husband was told it had just come in from the lower 48. Therefore they were aware it wasn't winterized properly and was not only useless but a safety hazard as well. We agreed to pay for gas and mileage since we did take it but I don't feel we should have had to pay for anything since we returned it an hour after picking it up and the fact that we couldn't use it. first off I was given the wrong truck by a manager, he assigned me 1 truck, yet started another, Then The truck he gave me, the fuel was NOT full it was at 3/4 tank when I recieved it. they said I would not have to fill it up upon return and to only replace what fuel I used. I did and provided a fuel recipt. when I returned and they realized they had given me the wrong truck, they could not fix it because the manager was not on duty, they Tell me they will only charge me the lease of the truck and not milage, and they would fix my contract later that day......I waited 2 days before an outragouse amount came out of my account. I was Sooo not happy to have to pay for THEIRE MISTAKE I have a hungry teenager at home to feed!

I think that you should have more 26’ trucks available to be rented out for the public as when I had a reservation for 26’ truck and I had gone to pick up the truck it was 2 days late from the prior rental and I was 2 days late with turning it back to U-Haul... I wasn’t compensated for any of the late times or anything else and that kind of sucked... if I was compensated I would be interested in doing alot of future business with U-Haul of Fairbanks...! Let me know if you wanna compensate me for your mess and I can do business with you again...?

Rented a truck to go from Ak to WA. One headlight was out and tires were low on air. For a Fall trip down the Alcan the vehicle was unsafe to drive.

When I scheduled my pickup I wasn’t impressed with the call center. I got to the store and the guys working there were absolutely amazing! Great customer service, informative and a wonderful personality. They got me in and out quickly! Amazing team!!!!

Seems like this store is a continuous issue. April I had a problem and it wasn’t solved but a credit and now I couldn’t even get a phone call back from the manager. He charged me twice and still hasn’t called me back and the store representatives Whom respresent this company literally said I do not know this sounds like a customer service issue.... in my opinion this is not a representative or a customer service. Someone at the store should be intelligent enough to represent the company

Make sure the equipment is road ready. The fuel gauge did not operate at all. The counter person told me bring it back at a 1/2 tank. Did not notice until I pulled away it was on E. Stopped and put $30.00 in the tank and the needle did not move. Called the U-Haul place I rented it from and they said the manager would call me back. That did not happen. Moved my belongings then pumped another $20.00 into the tank and still again the needle is on E. I put both receipts in the paperwork and along with the keys dropped into the night time drop box. Besides the fuel gauge everything was great and the counter person when I picked up the truck and I can’t recall her name but she was excellent Need to fix the fuel gauge

The truck I rented was clean but the low tire air pressure light was on which also caused the check engine light to be on. This was very anerving as we had a long drive through sparsely populated area and a specific timeline to meet. I don’t ever like driving with a check engine light on.

I rented a storage unit while my wife and I got ready to move to Anchorage. I showed up twice outside of normal business hours and I could not enter the storage area. I believe the storage area was supposed to be open 24 hours; I heard others complain about this as well. I live about 20 minutes outside of town and it sucked to drive all they way back with a full trailer, twice. I also rented a trailer to go one way, Fairbanks to Anchorage, at the end of August, 2018 so that I could empty my storage unit and not have to pay September rent. The trailer I was supposed to pick up on Friday was not there, I came back Friday evening and a replacement was found. I came back Saturday morning to pick up the trailer (I need to get back to Anchorage ASAP); however, the ground wire on the lighting harness was frayed and the lights wouldn't work. I was told to come back Sunday, which I did, and the lights still weren't working. At that point I needed to leave for Anchorage, without my stuff. You guys did give me the month of September for free, which definitely helped the situation. I returned last weekend, rented a 5x10 trailer (which was upgraded to a 6X12 - thanks!), and drove it down to Anchorage on Sunday. I'll admit, I was very frustrated at times due to all the mix-ups and inefficiency. The people working there were nice and did everything they could to help; however, I think there should have been signage about the non 24 hour access. Also, everyone could use a little help with the computer systems and they should probably be upgraded. Thanks d-_-b
