When I rented a trailer I was up-sold a larger one than I wanted. I was told the size I wanted was already reserved. The one I rented I was told needed to be back in 12 hours because it also was reserved. Needing a trailer I had no choice but to rent what they had. When I returned the trailer less than 8 hours later I noticed immediately the size trailer I initially wanted to rent was still sitting there. In fact 2 of them were STILL sitting there. I feel like I got taking advantage of by not pre-reserving a trailer online prior to renting one.

Much faster equipment collection than previous experience. App based return worked well. Is there an app based pickup possible?

Make the Rubber matting inside the 9Ft local vans removable

I returned the trailer at 4:45PM yesterday to the same location, yet got a text this morning looking for it. I called and the man said the return doesn't show up on his records. I described the woman that checked it in. Should I have been given a receipt? Can you check the on-site inventory?

I had a horrible, very racist encounter that I called corporate on. Employee Brian at the Alta Mere location in Fort Worth, Tx said to a fellow employee, “I’m not racist but black people are getting all their money from stimulus checks cause of how many kids they have.” I confronted him about that, due to the fact that I am white but I have a beautiful half black child (countless black nieces and nephews, my godson is black, my boyfriend and his kids are black, the list goes on of non white people that fill my heart with fullness and happiness). I said “if you have to say you aren’t racist then...” and he cut me off mid-sentence to say “I’m only a little racist”... I told him how much of a problem I had with his statement and I said that I feel like I had to report this unprofessionalism to corporate. He said “okay that’s fine. My name is Brian.” I was floored. Absolutely floored. There was no apology. There was no sympathy or anything. I was appalled that y’all have people of this standard representing your company. I called corporate and the only thing they did was email the general manager. The GM contacted me to apologize; proceeded to tell me that he was sorry and that was unacceptable. But then the GM proceeded to tell me that Brian probably didn’t mean it in those terms, that he isn’t usually like that, that Brian had asked to go home multiple times that day because he wasn’t in the right state of mind, that Brian was wrong but he thinks he was just joking, and that Brian is a pretty good person. He said multiple times that he wasn’t trying to make excuses for Brian but if you ask me that was excuse, after excuse, after excuse, for his unprofessional, unacceptable behavior. The GM then asked me if I wanted an apology from Brian. No I don’t. I want Brian to learn professionalism and I want Brian fired so he understands the severity of this situation. I was stunned at how this was handled considering the severity of the situation. Appalled actually. It’s half what he said that’s bothering me, and half that he felt comfortable enough to say this statement in front of a paying customer just because he assumed I would be okay with his statements due to me being the same skin color as him . Not one employee in there offered an apology, but all employees witnessed situation first hand. If I hadn’t preordered this UHaul, I would’ve turned around and left. UHaul would not have gotten a dime of my money. I am so disappointed that you guys allow a person of this mindset to represent your company. He is apart of the problem in this world. I am so disappointed in UHaul, corporate, and the GM. Brian should be fired immediately! Bad day or not, that’s a mindset instilled in his head, not small talk because you are upset that day. I don’t play about my child and this needs to be handled differently! I’m upset. I will never return to this location. It makes me wonder how they treat customers who aren’t white. Disgusting. UHaul.... DO BETTER!

It was extremely easy, and I couldn’t ask for more.

Friendlier cashier. Young man seemed irritated to be there and gave minimal info about transaction. I had to ask a guy in the parking lot where the unit was and how do I get my extra blankets.

There were 2 main problems. First, the truck had two leaks in it and there was rain that day. I asked if we were supposed to do a walkthrough before leaving and the worker said no I was good to go. The second big problem was returning after hours. I used my phone and followed the instructions but was never prompted to take pictures and it never really confirmed the check in. The website wasn’t functioning properly and so I just turned the key in and was charged the 20 dollars. Totally bogus. Not very pleased with this particular experience. If you’re actually reading this, we would very much appreciate a 20 dollar refund since we brought the truck back in good condition way before the needed time and attempted to use the website to check it in ourselves to avoid the fee.

They were quick, efficient and helpful.

UHaul team was well organized, COVID-safety minded, and very helpful to quickly assist with my online reservation, installation of trailer to my truck hitch, and return/removal process.

Only one person working the lobby while 5 people were in line. Would not let me in until everyone with a reservation was helped. Had to go back to my vehicle to make an online reservation. STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.

Appliance dolly was not in top shape

I had a few problems with this rental. I reserved a van from the University location. I then received a change in reservation to the Alta Mere location. This was not only inconvenient, but I then had to pay for the additional miles. I should have had the mileage subtracted. Then I was unhappy to see that none of the staff were wearing facemasks. This shows a disregard for the safety of the clients. If covid spreads through their staff, it will be all over the rental equipment.
