I needed come at 8am instead of 7am that we agreed to whey they put my visa card on file. But I called and was told they have the right to give the truck to someone else if I was late. They did pull back the time for me. My point they have my card on file that I was coming, that is ridiculous if someone was late that their truck would be given away. We had a domino effect with Pods and Uhal and another storage center and I was stressed at this mention from the desk. What if you couldn't call stuck in traffic or something. Stupid rule in my opinion. I will consider another place to rent equipment. Denny C.

The location itself was clean and seemed well-maintained. My u-haul experience overall was terrible. I reserved my truck and location and time (3pm) over a month in advance. A few days prior to my reservation date I receive and email informing that my truck was all ready at a DIFFERENT LOCATION and DIFFERENT TIME (4pm). When I called they informed they did not have a truck anymore for me at the location I had picked and the truck at this location wouldn't be available till 4. But if it does they will call and let me know. I had scheduled for everyone to show by 3....I was annoyed that it was now 4 and I had to change everything...but whats another hour?? DAY OF MOVE: I call around 230pm to see if the truck was available. They say no and that they have the note to call me if it comes in early. So I wait. 3 goes by......4...GOES BY. 420pm: I call and ask about my truck. They inform that the person who has the truck currently is running late and they will call me when it arrives. WTH....where was my call at 4?! 5 goes by.......it is now 6pm. 3 hours PAST my reservation time and 2 hours past the changed time. They call to let me know the guy who has it is not bringing it back but GOOD NEWS! they found me another truck AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION. I go to get the truck and explain at the counter the situation (politely I might add). The lady was quite rude and kept trying to rush me out. She said they most they could do is "give you an extra day with the truck but we provided you a truck so that is all you will get." WTF!? I dont need an extra day. An extra day does me nothing. I am starting my move 4 hours past what I had RESERVED for a month ago and the "most" that I could be compensated for was 1 extra day. I will NEVER go with U-Haul again and I hope any reading this doesn't either.

The staff at U-Haul in Newport News as good. However, the vehicle was a disaster. The vehicle's a/c was not functioning. It was in the 90s outside, a/c would have been nice. The change oil and battery lights were coming on constantly. And the fuel tank symbol on the truck's instrument panel indicated that the fuel tank was located on the driver's side instead of the passenger's side of the truck. Good to know what side the fuel tank is located when you are lining up a big truck at a gas station.

I had a good experience. However, please explain to your customers about the mileage. The person who took care of me did not tell me about the mileage and I was not familiar with it myself. They need to make this known so people will not get stuck paying for high mileage.

Let me offer the following for your consideration. UHaul (on the 888 line) originally set me up a one-way from Richmond to Yorktown (roughly 1-hour trip) at a rate of $92. After being confirmed, I waited 2 hours for a scheduler to call. I finally called the scheduler myself. At that point, I learned that I would that I would be picking up the truck in Mineral, VA -- an hour beyond Richmond. I then called your Warwick office to arrange a 2-way round trip. That increased my cost by about $50. (It would have been nice if the original $92 rate could have been kept for me given I'd been promised that rate and asking a customer to drive an hour past Richmond to pick up a truck seems like not honoring the deal.) And, I'd lost about 3 hours of the day on the previous engagement. At the Warwick office, the truck was great and the people were very nice. But ... when I drove the truck to Richmond, I opened the rear and found no blankets -- which I could have used. Admittedly, I did not ask about blankets ... but it seems appropriate for UHaul to affirmatively ask customers if they have any needs for blankets, dollies, boxes, etc. The wait times on the UHaul 888 line are bad. I'm sure UHaul prefers if everybody does everything electronically, but us older guys need to talk to a person.... and waiting 20-40 minutes to do so is not acceptable. I will use UHaul again. I just hope you find this feedback to be constructive -- as it is intended that way. And if anybody wants to change my rate back to $92 and give me a refund, I'm here.... Very sincerely, G. Hammock

The original pick up location did not have a truck for me even though I reserved it 45 days in advance. I had to drive 60 minutes r/t to a different facility where I was berated by a bully sales rep who refused to listen to my story - telling me there was no truck for me there. When I convinced him to talk to dispatch on the phone, he was even more of a jerk. I will NEVER go back to that location.

saleperson is not very friendly, when ask about use my own car insurance to cover the coverage, she immediately said U-haul will need repair money right away if accident occur, the mileage gauge were not reset prior to give me the key, no physical walk thru of the vehicle for damage when I pick up the van.

Just to make sure not to overlap i called and wanted to keep the truck the following day sunce I already had it loaded and my storage place was closed and the lady i spoke to with the strong accent was from texas and very rude and had a customer waiting in the truck but they had 11 trucks in the lot

The associate wasn't engaging with me as the customer, I asked for assistance in ensuring my vehicle was secure on the tow and I received non verbal attitude, luckily there was a male associate that saw what was going on and assisted. I just believe in following the customer service experience all the way thru until we leave the property. Really ashamed but my family is ok and that is all that matters now.

The lady who works there is very rude, she did not walked me through to get the truck and she blamed me about the tank. Tank was not at the level when i picked up. She lied to me and talked to me very mean. She almost was rasist to me. I will never ever use uhaul again.

They have me a smaller truck. But it was still the same rate. No miles included in the rental of the truck. Was going to charge me an extra 45 bucks for gas being s smidge under the 1/4 tank mark but let me go out an extra gallon in it. Then the guy couldn't figure out how to run the register to get my change back to me. Uhaul website quoted me 68 and I spent 100! I will go to Budget across the street the next time I move!
