The eventual costs -201 $ were well above the original quote -168 $ obtained both on the web site and from an employee at the location when we phoned ahead (for reference: 8 hours, 450 km, 9' cargo van). She was very nice to book the van for us, but the quote we received for the reservation did not match the website quote, but was instead the 19,95 $/day + km). When we came to pick up the van, the quote was now 208 $for the same duration and kilometres. In the end, the charges did match the 109 $/day + 0,20 $/km + HST, but that is way more than the original quote from the web site and the employee at the location confirmed by phone (she probably just checked on the web site herself). I think the issue is mainly with the web site. For one, it confuses miles and kilometres. It also assumes the wrong number of hours and whether the driving will be in-town or out-of-town. (It also tries too hard to upsell other services, by pre-selecting some values instead of leaving at 0.) As well, it can be difficult to contest the existing damage on the rental. The original pictures that were offered of the vehicle are from much too far for the existing damage to be visible. Had to take a lot of pictures of various dings on the van, easy to miss some (especially inside), and upload the pictures (hard to check how visible they are as they remain very small in the on-line tool). These vans get used a lot, so they do end up with a lot of dings. Many were already marked with a little sticker. Nice. However, many quite visible ones were missing stickers. At least, we did not get a lot of hassles when we returned the van. Two days after the rental, I still have not received my bill confirming the details of the charges. So, in the end a few hiccups and misadvertized rates. Otherwise, easy pick-up and drop-off at that location. Unfortunate that the employees are not in a position to address the quote issue and can only work with "what the computer tells them".Pierre B.

We waited 25 minutes after our pickup time before we were able to interact with the only UHaul employee present. It turns out the delay resulted from the employee having to take calls in addition to dealing with processing bookings. The employee was the only staff present. This delayed ourselves and at least 4 other customers waiting in line. Furthermore, the information confirmed at the time of reservation did not appear to be in the UHaul system such that we had to correct the estimated mileage and other details as part of the truck pickup process. Thus delay could easily been avoided. The phone verification of pre- existing vehicle damage is also not very effective. The pictures are useless because of poor resolution - which resulted in further delay identifying non-recorded damage to the vehicle (2 areas on back of truck) before we could depart.noelle C.

My original reservation was extremely poorly managed at the address indicated below. I requested a self pickup only to discover that my reservation was logged as a hand delivery. This service was not available at this location and after 30 minutes waiting to speak with a customer service rep. I was told that I would have to travel across town for another van. Two other people were having the same issue at this locale and oddly one couple had also managed to book the same van I was there to pick up. The person who was on site offered no assistance other than to tell everyone waiting that there was a video we could access online to â€œlearnâ€ how to self check out. Very unhelpful. It took 2 hours after my scheduled pick up time before I was on the road. I requested a call back and my expectation is that I will see a reduction in the amount paid for my rental as well as an apology for the extremely poor service that I received. I'll reserve a final assessment of U-Haul for the time being. Straight up honesty. I was told that the equipment would be adequate for towing and I was given a specific price with milage and was double charge. Only had the vehicle for one day and was triple charge for insurance and truck.Gerard L.
I was lied to and the rep at the location doesn't know how to do her job. When I tried to checkout, the order wasn't online and I couldn't. So I was billed an extra day even after bringing it in early. Tried calling support but was on hold for almost an hour and he wasn't able to find the contract either and told me to call the location and everything would be fine, I did that and it wasn't fine. The rep had no idea about the call to support and wasn't interested in helping other than explaining that there was nothing she could do. It took 50 minutes to check the vehicle out, partly because the online system could not be made to work on my phone. It was an intensely frustrating experience. To make matters worse, when I returned the vehicle the staff took the kilometre distance I had traveled to be miles and converted that back to kilometres, resulting in me being significantly overcharged, and it must have taken another 20 minutes for that blunder to be corrected. I will never use Uhaul again if there is any reasonable alternative.Robin F.
Text check in didn't work, caused delays. Had to do in person check in but there was a line up and closing time was within the pick up time. I was called when late for drop off and they were extremely aggressive on the phone and demanding I come bring it back immediately. The employees at this location were amazing. Initially upon check in I dealt with two women that were utmost kind and very personable! I was checked in fast and even shared a laugh. My experience in store was very good! Upon returning the truck I dealt with a very kind man he was very fast and even made time to crack a joke. I appreciate the precautions the employee was taking due to the pandemic as I watched him sanitize the truck cab. The gas mileage was not properly explained and I signed off on something I did not understand which resulted in me getting charged for gas when the meter did not move. This is because it was indicated that the gas was at a line on the paper that didn't exist on the vehicle.Erin H.
