Original location scheduled for trailer pick up didn't have the equipment. Gentleman on lot hooked me up with the next size trailer and said he'd handle the change notification with the customer service woman. I had already merged on to the highway when customer service rep. called asking me to return the trailer to the lot since it was currently reserved for another customer due in a few hours. I had already given them 45 mins between scheduled return of trailer (due in at noon) and the time I arrived. I waited over 30 minutes for the hook up and now had to return. I was redirected the next nearby dealer who had the 5 x 8' trailer I needed and was assured that all my information was retained in the database and that she'd confirmed the trailer was there. I was annoyed at being inconvienanced and put behind schedule. The next dealer was only 6 miles away, however when they checked the reservation they said they didn't have the 5 x 8 trailer and that I was going to have to go to a third location. I refused stating that I would take the 5 x 8 trailer I could see clearly parked in their lot. The response: "That trailer is already reserved for someone to pick up at 4:00". Again I strongly refuted that I had a 1:00 reservation and should be given the trailer and that an employee at their sister location had time to transport that 5 x8 they had to this location to fulfill the 4:00 reservation. The gentleman wasn't exactly apologetic, but he did make it right by contacting dispatch to have the reservation switched from the sister location to theirs. He also gave me a discount ( of which i had to suggest was due: asked for free insurance coverage) and he reduced the rental rate and provided insurance coverage. by the time I was on the road, I had lost 1 hr and 45 minutes travel time due to UHaul dispatch not correctly handling reservation/equipment/location properly. My suggestion is that in such cases when equipment is not returned on time that Uhaul employ equipment runners to relocate the next available equipment to the location it is reserved for. It should not be up to the customer to go from location to location to find the equipment they reserved and was assured would be at a pick up location.GERALYN W.

Nothing that I see, we had reserved with a different location. But it was not a problem when we were called to pick up at another location. Which was just as close to our house. Thank you for the communication. Also, had phone problems and maybe user error and could not load my pictures at pick up time. I needed to extend my rental for an extra day but could not log on to the website. I called the 800 number. The customer service rep I spoke to was THE most friendly, helpful and pleasant person in all of the entire universe. Your check out associate was great. Your agent when we rented was the worse customer service experience I have ever had. No attention as he was preoccupied with a personal auto situation. When he finally got around to 50% attention on me he said he would show me the truck. That entailed pointing to it and walking g away. The only issue I had is regarding filling the tank to 7/8 before returning the van to U-Haul. Following the guideline to return the gas level to 7/8, the gauge did not show that I had added enough gas the first try. So I added gas a second time, and the gauge was still not up to 7/8. I added yet more gas - which didn't make sense to me as I had only driven about 24 miles - when it was finally at the 7/8 mark. Once I left the gas station and was driving back to the U-Haul location, the gauge went higher up and was well beyond the 7/8 mark. I did not say anything when I returned the vehicle, but I probably should have. I do not understand why a customer shouldn't just fill the tank once finished with the rental vehicle.THEODORE KURT B.
Person who helped check me in seemed to be bothered that I was there making him with. He was barely helpful and had an attitude the whole time. Return process was confusing and ended up calling customer service, which resulted in a long hold. So I sat in the parking lot just to ensure there was a record of my return. Hopefully I did everything correctly. I tried calling in the morning to make sure, but there was another hold time and I couldn't wait due to my own work obligations.SHANNON T.
