When dropping of the rental truck,after hours, the self drop-off phone app would not work. I could not get the location scan to work. I do have a current Apple cell phone. As a consequence of the the app failure, I was charged a $20.00 After Hours Service Fee of $20.00. Having used UHAUL for many years, nearly a dozen rentals, I have never seen or encountered this charge before. This charge will likely influence my decision as to which rental company I use in the future.Rex H.

No preparation for booked rentals.. When someone shows up at 9am for a ride share.. license verification, etc., should be done upon completing reservation. I waited around for 30 min.. then was not made aware it â€œhadâ€ to be on a â€œcreditâ€ card.. all after uhaul took my payment info the day prior?? Poor process and lack of task efficiency.. then after leaving, I'm told I could rent a box truck with debit information, which was helpful, except for, I was given a truck in Sarasota, FLORIDA that had maybe 5% of a Freon charge leftâ€¦ truck was beaten to hell, squeaking on left turns, shaking on the highwayâ€¦ all experienced in a short 2-3hr/25 mile around town furniture pick up.. was I excited to overpay in gas for a fuel hog, sweat like a pig in 95 degree heat, no I was not impressed at all. 6 months ago I drove a uhaul from Virginia to this location here in Sarasota. I had a box truck with a car dolly and someone screwed up a 1.2.3 order and had me returning the truck before the car dollyâ€¦? I had to go back and forth about being a day late due to a uhaul rep booking errorâ€¦ after one spends 10+ â€œmeaningfulâ€ years in sales/management, the smart ones are keen on one thing, â€œCustomer EXPERIENCE.. AND SERVICE/PROCESS not only deliver a sale, they build rapport and allow for retention.. clearly not the business plan here in Sarasota..Kelsey B.

When we picked up our truck a portion of the windshield was cracked, which was a bit unsettling. The customer service was moderate at best - prior to picking up the truck I could hardly ever reach anyone on the phone at the actual Uhaul pick-up site.Timothy C.
other than the manager the people working at this location were very rude. I did my reservation on line hoping to expedite the process but it did not help me....parking lot was so full and no one was outside to direct customers....i am going to buy a trailer so I dont have to deal with uhaul anymore.patrick B.
Very pleasant to work with the gentlemen that checked my rental in. Just stand back and let them have space to do their job. The facility was small and packed with rental trucks, and trailers. Could be difficult for inexperienced drivers to navigate through.DONALD E.
Lot is small. Another returned truck was blocking me from backing out. They had no key for that truck. It took a while to move other trucks so I could get out. This cut into my moving time. The staff were very apologetic and helpful. There should be spare keys on hand for all trucks in case someone does not return a key.George R.
I dropped off my vehicle almost 3 hours after closing and the GM was still there cleaning and bringing in vehicles. He was a very nice guy and welcomed me in. You just don't find service like this any longer and I would highly recommend this location with his customer service leadership.Paul H.
I called to reserve and asked to pick up the equipment in Sarasota on Sunday. The representative told me that the facility opened at 7. When we got there at 7:10 on Sunday we found out they didn't open till 9. When I call the 800#, I'm on hold for at least 90 min and then given incorrect information. I called back on Sunday morning on my way to my destination to advise I was going to pick up in Bonita Springs instead - the agent on the phone stated she needed to transfer me to the scheduling dept to ensure they have the equipment in Bonita and transferred me. I sat on hold for 45 min and called the reservation dept on another phone and found out that the reservation dept didn't open till 9. The only comment I have for the Sarasota location is the fact that they are understaffed. When I returned the truck and waited in line for 10 minutes, the salesperson told me to drop the keys on the seat and no need to wait.Victoria L.
