I asked about renting a pickup to move furniture from a furniture store right next door to my home in Clemmons. I was told I could not rent a pickup at this location and return at another. I asked about a cargo van and was told the same applied. I was told I could rent the 10ft box truck and return at a different location. I returned the truck to the Shattalon location in Winston Salem. I attempted to check it in using the U-Haul app and received an error message. The Shattalon location was closed so I just put the key in the box. I recieved my final receipt was was charged $290 for returning at the wrong location, a fuel charge stating the truck was returned with 3/4 tank when I have a picture of the fuel gauge showing the truck was on fuel, and a mileage charge stating I drove 120 miles which is not possible. Goggle maps puts my trip at 57 miles. I have rented with u-haul several times in the past and have never had such a troubling experience. I have called customer service, and the representative I spoke with was the only redeemable part of this experience. I am waiting for follow up on the erroneous charges.
LATONYA HThis was Absolutely the Best time I've had renting a UHAUL. Ladonia was very Professional yet very Personable. She got everything ready in a short amount of time and I was good to go. After our trip, she made the Return just as well as the Picking up. Definitely use this location in the Winston Salem area for your Rental needs.
