This was by far my worst experience with any rental company. I reserved a truck almost a month ago for the 665 N Halsted St location, since my apartment was just a block away. When I got there, they told me that they didn’t have the truck I reserved. I showed them my reservation email, and they told me to wait to talk to someone else in their staff. After waiting almost 20 minutes, that staff member took my confirmation code and told me that they moved my pickup location to a location that was 20 minutes away (10 miles through Chicago). I asked why wasn’t I ever informed of this? He chuckled and said I’ll have to contact corporate to complain. So I went to the 4000 West 40th St location, and they told me what truck was mine. As we were getting ready to leave, my friend didn’t have a passenger seat seatbelt. I also noticed that the miles on the truck had over 30,000 more miles than what my contract said it was suppose to have. I told the website they had me check in through that the miles were off, and they told me I need to go back inside to see the staff. The staff told me that they gave me the wrong truck. We then went out to get the correct truck and their staff pulled it up for me. The miles were correct on this truck... but there was no driver side seatbelt AND no passenger side seatbelt! By this time, we were over an hour late for our starting move time, so we opted to just go without seatbelts. But then realized that we had to pay for the miles driven on the truck, and they had put us as a pickup location that was 10 miles further than our original pickup location, and about 15 miles further than our moving location. Very frustrating, and I hope I am reimbursed. We’ve used UHaul MANY times without any issues before this experience. Please make it right.

we got there just past closing and tried to do the online checkout but had a really hard time. George, an employe there, saw us struggling and came out to ask if we needed help. he then manually checked us out. he went above and beyond for us which we are very grateful for.

take as much possible information over the phone when confirming reservation to avoid longer time inside for processing when customers have minor children or toddlers to avoid long period of time indoors due to covid-19 crisis. Ensure Customer has all accessories require before obtaining equipment.

This was a terrible experience and a huge waste of money! When we arrived to pickup our truck in (paterson), they gave us a terrible truck which was extremely dirty, damaged, and it would not start! We stayed there for over an hour trying to explain to the man who worked there that the truck is not good. He was not cooperating with us and made the process very difficult. He finally gave us the information to head over to another location (saddle brook) and when we arrived there, they were forcing us to pay again, which we had already paid at the first location. This process had taken over 3 hours. It was ridiculous! They gave us the truck which had barely any gas in it, pretty much empty. We unloaded the truck only to see that majority of our boxes were damaged due to some kind of water leaking into the truck! Almost everything in the truck was destroyed including a fire place and a brand new tv! When we finally arrived in Illinois, we left the truck at the location we agreed on with U-Haul. As soon as we walked in, there was no one there to greet us. We waited for quite some time. When this man walked up and he didn’t even say hello, he just asked us what the name on the reservation was. We told him and he just walked away. When he came back he didn’t even give us any paperwork and told us about some extra fees which we had to pay! He definitely didn’t know what he was doing! When we asked for the manager, he said he was the only one working today! How ridiculous! I will never ever rent a truck from U Haul again and I will definitely not recommend anyone rent from here either! Almost $1000 spent on this truck rental and it was a very disappointing experience!

Updated your system I made reservations on fri to pic up on sat at a location near the place I rented the truck for WHY nobody said you would have to travel 25 miles to another location to pick the truck up then drive 25 miles back to the other other locations to pic my good up then drive 143 miles home not uhaul fault about the home drive but it could have been a better communication system

I was told I had a 30 minute grace period to rent the truck and still was charged for an extra day. It was due back at 2:20 pm and I returned it at 2:50 pm. Then later when I had the truck I noticed it had an oil leak. I had to buy oil and put it in.

The location that I had originally chose, had to cancel my order because the truck needed repairs. I had to switch a different location that was much farther away. I asked if I would be able to return it to the other location so that I could avoid having to pay more money for the mileage that would be driven. I was told that I could not, which with it being an issue that arose from you guys I believe it should be accommodated.

Nothing you guys were beyond the best place i have ever done business with from the time i realized that car didnt run. To the time i was pullin ir down the road back to ky was less then an hour. You guys are awesome in kentucky when i need one. It takes at least an hour for the call back. If im in Chicago i will request pick up with this srore like i think theys guys need a raise to be honest. Well above and beyond any uhaul service i have ever gotten. Thank you guys.
