My reservation was originally made at the Manchester, CT store where they could use more counter help to cope with customers having to wait in a long queue. Perhaps runners or assistants to aide customer once they have cleared the order process.

Had an amazing experience working with john the general manager he helps me and my family out every time we rent as we frequently rent from the columbia location. He has high energy and is always willing to help carry our boxes out and even goes above and beyond and helps my 87 year old mother into the truck. after him being screamed at and pushed by a Customer last time we rented I thought we would've lost the amazing experience he provides us each time when we visit the location but he was still here and I hope he receives credit for all that he does.

I wish that you would train people what the fractions are for measuring the gas in the tanks. You have it broken into 1/16th's on the contract, and the gas tank only has 1/4 increments. I use a tape measure all day every day and know how to divide up something into fractions. These guys were adamant that there was 15/16th's of a tank when I left, but it was not.... I know it is a small thing, but you should not have the increments like that. 1/8's is close enough. Also, I brought it back with a full tank, and while you threaten to charge me almost $5 a gallon if I am short, you give no credit when I bring it back with extra gas. Not complaining, but you put undue pressure on people. Honestly, you should have it full on the way out, require it full upon return, and anything over a gallon to top it off should be charged to the customer. Anyway, I will still be renting from you, just my thoughts on running a tighter (and fairer) ship.

The beginning of our experience was pleasant. The workers were cordial and knowledgeable. The check-out employee pointed out that we needed to be sure to fill the tank back to a half tank and gave us the highlighted paper showing which marks to pay attention to in order to know how many gallons to put in. The ending of our experience was disappointing. My husband went to replace the gas. He followed the highlighted chart. It showed he needed to replace between one and a half and two gallons. To be safe he put in three gallons. When he got back in the truck and started to drive, the gas gauge only went to just below a half tank. When he got to the UHaul place, he told the check-in person what had happened. That person assured him it was not a problem. Unfortunately, when we received the emailed receipt, we were charged $6.38 for fuel. We were disappointed in that the gas gauge and the highlighted paper did not match up; and we were disappointed that we were told it wasn't a problem that the discrepancy caused us to be a little under, yet we were still charged the exorbitant gas fee. Overall, what began as a pleasant experience ended rather disappointingly.

All staff members we encountered at this location were friendly, professional, efficient and knowledgeable. They anticipated questions, concerns and needs efficiently & effectively. The on-line/remote rental and return apps are new to us...we didnt use them this time but can see the value in offering a streamlined rental experience. There was a snafu with being charged an extra day on our rental. John responded to my email quickly; apologized and addressed it immediately. He then called me to explain the refund and to ensure that I had recieved my copy of that refund via email. He is very polite, professional and responsive. The only thing that was a surprize and may be something to be mindful of is...we were not advised at the rental desk that we'd recieve a text with link to confirm any existing damage to the vehicle. I didnt get that untill I was at my destination. Thankfully there was no,issue with this but I could see how if damage was going to be charged to a customer you'd have wanted this addressed at pick,up. Overall working with folks & equiptment at this location made a hot, hard day of moving much much easier! Thank you!

The return of the truck was quick and easy. I handed over the keys to the u-haul person who checked the truck in and sent me on my way. The whole transaction took less than 10 minutes.

The person who took my keys at return was rude, uneducated in his position and called me a bitch when I asked for an explanation of the return process. I suggest you pay your staff more so you can get better employees.

We had rented a truck at this location before without a problem. This time, however, we arrived only to be told that the 17" truck that we had reserved and put a deposit on was not available - it apparently had been returned by the previous customer in poor condition. We were offered a smaller 15" truck instead (for the same price) I should have been notified that the truck wasn't available before my pick-up time. They had my phone number and e-mail address. The gentleman working at the cash register was very pleasant and apologetic, but said that there was nothing more he could do. I was very disappointed - we reserved the larger truck because we needed the extra space.

I was not happy with the fact they could not keep the computer on line for an 1 1/2 hours of standing there then to have to wait for the car hauler to be hooked up. Then we leave and I find out the lights don't work on one side because of a broken trailer wire but that's not bad I send the lady 45 minutes a way to get a new wire from the same location and she gets back and the wire they gave her was bad to so I had to go 20 away to my shop and fix it. Then we rented a car hauler and told them what was going on it and went to load it and it was to long for the trailer. Now were about 7 hours leaving late. I should have listen to the guy at Penske when he said it wont fit. For the money it cost for this rental these things should not happen. And you ask if I would recommend to a friend I don't think so not with the service I got. Tom
