Arriving at U-Haul at 4411 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd, Durham, NC 27707 I was meet by an elderly white, gray-bearded male who was in the least rude and his overall appearance was unkempt. He "attempted " to chastise me for where I was parked but quickly lost that argument. I was pulling my personal trailer which made it too long to park in the single-car parking area lot. which forced me to park in the area he said was reserved for U-Haul trucks which was less than 25% full. I suppose the most distressing issue about my encounter was he did have a mask around his neck and over his ears, but not covering his mouth or nose.CARL H.
I checked in on line, which is supposed to make everything go quickly, but I still spent 5-10 minutes at the counter while the agent there clicked away on his computer, asked me things I'd already answered in the on-line checking, and swiped my card, again despite having already provided that. It takes far less time to pick up rental car than a rental trailer. Makes no sense.Stephen D.
Rep didn't seem knowledgeable about what I had pre-requested & also the website wasn't working properly when I tried to return the U-Haul so I was charged an additional $84.ASHLEY L.
When I rented the truck, the staff was extremely professional and helpful and had an outstanding experience. The after-hours return process was the complete opposite. It was easy to return the truck but the online process was horrible. It wanted to determine my location on my phone and I had turned on the ability for the app to read my location, but it wouldn't accept it and I couldn't go any further in the return process online. I tried for over 20 minutes and called the customer support line and waited for over 30 minutes before I had to hang up. Due to not being able to finish the process online (the app wouldn't let me), I was charged a $20 service fee. On my bill that came the next day, I was charged fo r3 gallons of gas because they read that the gas gauge had dropped from 3/8 to 1/4 of a tank. I drove the truck SIX miles total. I guess the truck gets 2 mpg. Loved the rental process, hated the return process. In the end I would recommend this site as the employees were great, but don't use the after hours return process... and no it was't because I couldn't figure out the technology.STEVEN JAY S.
The folks at this location were completely professional, helpful and efficient. They were also very flexible when I ended up needing the truck 2 extra days. The truck I rented was in perfect working condition. This was probably the best truck rental experience I've ever had. Can't think of anything to improve. When a customer rents a vehicle you guys shouldn't call everyday to check on it and when calling a voicemail should be left. I planned on renting a van for 7 days and a sells rep started calling my phone after day 1 so on day 2 made me feel pressured to return it or something was going to happen to my personal car that was parked on uhaul. Sales rep told me verbatim â€œI'm just checking on my van! Make it make sinceâ€CARL M.
