Online the rate was around $26 but when i got to the store they charged me over $40. I asked why the price was so different and they said he couldn’t change it and take it or leave it. Never using uhaul again

Book the correct location, and then don't call them complaining that they didn't show up. Don't lie to the customer about the closing time of the location so they are forced to book at an inconvenient location. Don't lie to them when they said they already called to talk to you about getting there later as a result of improper booking. Don't call AFTER they leave with the vehicle and tell them they owe am additional $200 because they have to drop the vehicle off at the place they SHOULD have been booked at, at a later time then was promised due to the fact that it took an additional 2 hours to pick up the vehicle from the wrong location.

I ordered online with the option to check in on my phone. When I got there and started the check-in process, the app said that there was no vehicle assigned to me. I tried calling customer service and was on hold for 30 MINUTES before someone picked up. From there, she transferred me and it was another 30 MINUTES before I got someone on the line only to be told that this location doesn't allow for pickup with a mobile device after-hours and I needed to wait for them to open to pick up my truck. Why was I allowed to make a reservation at this time and place if I wasn't going to be able to pick it up? Why did I have to spend a full hour of my moving day on the phone to get it figured out? If I could give zero stars, I would.

Took to long to check out, was rude, the dolly wasn’t in the truck. Ended up hurting myself as a result. Will not use this location again or uhaul again. Hiring movers next time.

Mr/ Higgins, the manager and his employee went out of their ways to check my back in on Tuesday, September 25 after their closing time. I really appreciate their customer service attitude! I was exhausted and hungry when I got back to their business; they had closed out their computer and till because it was more than two hours after their closing time when I pulled in. They reopened the register and computer to get me checked in when they didn't have to do that as they could have just said to come back tomorrow during normal business hours.. I will definitely use their services again next month when I have to finish moving a friend 200 miles to Eugene, Oregon. Thanks so much you two.

The whole insurance thing is so annoying. It makes me feel real negative and makes me want to use something like Enterprise carshare next time. The insurance comes out of nowhere, explain nothing in detail, is very confusing. There isn't something in the initial contract that says "hey you might need insurance here is a way to think about this in detail." It seems like a ploy for money. And even after spending the money, it is uncertain whether it will do anything. As a U-Haul employee once said to me, "U-Haul already makes too much money."

When making my reservation I noticed any time frame within 24 hours was the same single daily rate - sweet! So I selected 4 hours as that was closest to what I needed. I was never told the 4 hour window was critical and therefore returned at my leisure, including standing in the parking lot waiting for someone to finish cleaning a different truck and selecting a few cold beverages form the cooler before finally having my receipt printed...this put my total time over by 23 minutes. I was charged double for 2 rental periods (including twice the insurance charge)!! Then I was told they couldn't refund my money. I was made to feel stupid for not knowing about the time requirement and I felt cheated. The good news; I contacted the main U-Haul customer service and was treated very kindly and refunded for the extra day charge.

They were going to charge me $15.00 to park my car while I used the truck. When I questioned about the parking fee since I rented one of “your” trucks, I was told, “they are not my trucks, they are U-Haul trucks and I only make $8.00.” When I told him that wasn’t my problem, I was told I could go somewhere else. Since I drove my car and had no one to give me a ride, I had to park down the road and walk. I will NEVER rent another vehicle there, EVER! We are going to need a moving truck in a few weeks, now I am really questioning using U-Haul. Why the hell would I pay to park when I just paid to rent a vehicle? NEVER!

Had to clean the U-haul which we did and re-fuel and arrived just after 12 noon and was charged an extra $54-00. Will never use U-haul again. Got ripped off

We went to one location and the line was very long, the office was very hot and we didn't want to wait for the one lady who was trying to answer phones and help the customers. We went to a second location as one of the operators told us we could transfer the reservation. Then she transferred the call to a line that rang and rang. Nobody answered. When we called back the guy told us the reservation office closed a half hour earlier. He said there was nothing he could do and we should go back to the first location. I then asked him to just cancel the reservation and start a new one at the location I wanted which he was able to do. He was not well trained as he said it was impossible five minutes earlier. When we got to the new location, we rented a pick up truck. The truck was given to us dirty and had rocks and debris in the bed. When we returned it the man working there said we needed to clean it or pay an extra $30. He was very argumentative despite both of us telling him that the thing was dirty when we picked it up. In the end he didn't charge us the extra as we refused to pay it but he was rude about it. I highly recommend people using U-Haul vehicles be careful about writing down the condition of the truck they pic up. If I rent from them again I will take pictures of the vehicle and also the odometer. I'm pretty sure he charged us for extra miles as we only went to Home Depot and the dump. This town is small and they were not far. They also charged us $5 for a gallon and a 1/4 of gas. They seem to be lacking a work ethic and customer service skills.

They all had poor attitudes and honestly treated me like crap when I asked if they could help me guide my car onto the dolly. All I needed was a decent human to let me know if my tires were lined up as I pulled on, but out of the 5 “men” working none of them were capable. After calling a friend for help I was asked twice what my “eta for leaving was” AND they were talking about me and laughing. NEVER would I recommend this location.

Made an appointment online, everything confirmed. Arrived at gas station at correct time. When the worker attempted to pull up my reservation, he told me my name had been flagged and he couldn’t rent to me and I had to call customer service. After about about twenty minutes on hold and a couple transfers through customer service, I was told she couldn’t find any record of my reservation - I provided my master order #, phone number, credit card number, etc. and all she could tell me was that they didn’t have my reservation on file. Went back to the worker and asked him to try again before we left. He said it went through that time, and we eventually drove away with almost an hour less time on our reservation. Even if the error was on the workers end, why couldn’t customer service pull up any info for me? I have multiple confirmation emails. Overall, it added much stress and less moving time to an already difficult and busy day.

To Whom it May Concern – On August 12, 2018, my husband and I picked up a U-Haul from 4831 SE Powell Blvd. in Portland, OR. We completed an inspection of the vehicle with Tyson Pfau. The contract number is 22696102. Tyson came out and completed an inspection of the U-Haul with my husband. However, Tyson did not look under the U-Haul or check to see if the fuel line was intact. When we got the car, it had about half a tank of gas. We drove the truck to Eugene, got it unpacked, and went to return the vehicle. When we stopped to put fuel in the vehicle, it started spraying everywhere. The gas station attendant looked under the vehicle and informed us it was clear that the fuel line had been cut. Luckily, we were close to the drop off spot so we drove it there and called U-Haul Roadside. At this point, the car began to smoke and fume. Roadside told us it was critical not to get back inside the car. Unfortunately, the drop off location we were scheduled to drop off at doesn’t take keys after hours. Consequently, they asked us to come back in the morning and drop off the keys. Roadside asked us where the car was. We told them exactly. They said to leave it there, again stressing the importance of not moving the car. The drop off location was 1796 Willamette in Eugene. The next morning, we were exhausted from moving. Nonetheless, I started getting strange calls coming in at 6:52 am. The caller left no message. I got another call from the same number at 7:11 am. This time, he left a message. The message says, “yes message is for Aaron Read, Aaron the U-Haul you dropped off has our car wash exit blocked I can’t open that up until its moved it costs $100 an hour to have that car wash down if I don’t hear from you by 8 am I will call a locksmith and have them make a key for that truck, have it moved, and you will be responsible for that as well.” He didn’t call in his U-Haul capacity. He called from his cell. That number is (541) 844-8410. Though U-Haul calls are recorded per a corporate representative, the corporate representative said it is common that their employees will call from their cells to get around having them recorded. My husband called the man back immediately and tried to explain what happened with the fuel line. He explained Roadside had urged us not get back in the vehicle because it could explode at any moment. The man said he didn’t care. He said we needed to come move it now and hung up on us. We rushed there and gave him the key. The U-Haul was hardly blocking the man’s car wash. At that time, contrary to what we had already been advised by Roadside and customer service, he told us he would be charging us $40 for not putting fuel in the tank, charging us for the fuel line, and the whole cost of the U-Haul. Then, he asked my husband to get in the car and move it. He refused, unwilling to risk his life for U-Haul. The man got in the car and moved it himself. He didn’t apologize for our inconvenience. The young man at this location was very rude. I was told that I would be charged extra for cleaning even though I had swept the unit. I was also overcharged for mileage. Setac to belfair washington = 61miles Belfair washington to Cottage Grove = 280 miles, Cottage Grove to Eugene =18 miles. Total of 359miles not 1039 miles. Either the odometer is incorrect or Uhaul is scamming its customers. I won't return.
