I booked a Uhaul from Red Wing MN April 11 for May 16 on May 15 I was informed that my pick up location changed to Hager city WI (approximately 12 miles from Red Wing) I attempted to contact someone at the location to see if we could then pick it up a bit early. Could not reach anyone, so we just drove over, and discovered it was just a closed business of some sort, and the unit was the only Uhaul unit there. We again attempted to reach someone to no avail, so we drove back to Red Wing, then returned to the location at the pickup time, and then had to use the remote pickup method, as we never did reach or see a human being. Upon inspection we discovered the the AC blew hot air. we then called corporate UHAUL to see what could be done, as it was 85 degrees and we had a 5 hr drive ahead of us the next day after loading it up. we were informed that there was no other equipment available nearby and our only recourse was to call roadside and see if they could get a service truck out to us to get the AC working. we called roadside, and after waiting a bit we received a call back and were told no service truck was available (this was a Saturday afternoon). keep in mind we were on a tight schedule to get loaded up while we had help available. I asked if we are going to drive it with no AC we would expect a major discount on our bill, and we were told all we could do at that point was to have a 'customer relations' ticket opened and a manager would reach out to us within 48 hrs. By this morning (Thursday) and I had heard nothing, so I called at 0800 and was told the manager was in a meeting and would get back to me afterwards. It is now 1200 and I have heard nothing, although the full amount was billed to my card.
