Very poor customer service. They wanted me to only use the app for picking up and returning the vehicle. They did not want to help or interact at all when I explicitly requested customer counter service in my reservation. They became visibly annoyed when I asked for assistance.
Nothing. The process was easy and quick.
We have been waiting for almost one week to see what the status of our requested refund is. The Uhaul we rented was not safe to drive. I called Roadside Service to check the UHaul and they indicated that there was no transmission fluid, low oil, no grease in the underbelly, alignment issues, problems with the brakes, etc. The UHaul location we rented the truck from stated that they would have to inspect it and make a decision. I have not heard back from anyone. Additionally, the truck originally had the wrong mileage (which we pointed out when we checked it out at pick up) and has clearly not been serviced in quite some time. I live near the storage facility and can see that one week later the truck hasn't been moved...so I've been charged and no one is inspecting the truck (which was apparently the condition upon which they would even consider refunding us). I was told by the storage facility that only Roadside Assistance could get us a replacement truck. Roadside Assistance told me that only the storage facility could get a replacement. So I was stuck with a non-Maintenanced, un-safe truck and still no one has reached out to let me know what the status is/what the manager indicated about our refund.
Using the app to pick up the U-Haul was super easy and the location was easy to access and very well labeled. Would recommend!
Picking up the UHaul on the day of a move should be the easiest/ least stressful part of the day. In my case, it was absolutely the opposite. I reserved the UHaul weeks in advance and completed the check-in process ahead of time to ensure pick-up went smoothly and efficiently. However, to my disappointment, none of the information that I entered was able to be seen by the individual handling my reservation, despite having a confirmation email/ code stating that I had completed this process. I then was asked to provide this information 4 more times. Finally, the information was "saved" in the system, but payment would not go through. After being there for an hour an 45 minutes, I inquired about paying cash as this had put a major delay in my day. I was able to put down $100 in deposit to then take the truck for the day. Upon prompt return of the truck, again, the system was unable to generate my change. I waited another 35-40 minutes for this change, while AT&T was calling to say they were on their way to set up my internet. For the size of this company, this was a totally unacceptable experience and I will not use your services again.
The truck was a little dirty in the back where the past renter did not sweep it out.
My uhaul experience more or less was very good. The truck was good and everything was as expected. But the older gentleman that processed my rental on Saturday 5/23 was very very rude. He seemed upset I was even there taking up his time. I was wearing a mask, being very polite, but he must have had a bad day and was taking it out on customers. He needs to work on being nicer and more polite. This reflects poorly on uhaul. One thing that also bugged me is he called me on my personal cell phone to â€˜make sure' I was going to be here on time. I think that should not be allowed. I was the only who made the appointment for the time I specified. I will be there on time. He should not be abusing the company data and calling people on their personal cell phones throughout the day.
Truck windshield was full of bug debris. Truck cabin was not clean. Used bandaid in cup holder. Left door mirror not operative and uhaul representative at community storage acknowledged it's malfunction after truck was retired quote â€œ we knew about thatâ€ truck not clean representative Stated â€œwe do not clean trucks hearâ€ extremely dangers to drive at night when windshield is full of bug debris.
The only issue I had was when i returned the van the app asks you to drag the indicator to the level of fuel the van is being returned with. It would not let me drag the indicator to the full mark. I am aware that a picture is required for proof which I did and it clearly showed full but i was still charged for refueling.
The app was an awful experience
I received a good and timely service. The people at the facility were helpful. I would use this location again.
Forcing us to rent the Uhaul with the app was a disaster and extremely frustrating. App was horrible and forced us to spend an hour to finally receive the vehicle.

I began my rental process online with my phone. I did not upload pictures of my license as that was optional and I wanted to eat the lunch that had been served to me while it was warm. I don't remember all of the process but it seems that at some point I was given the option of checking out self-serve or at the counter. I chose the counter. When I arrived to get the truck, there were two women there. One was seated behind a computer; she did not speak. The other was doing some physical work. She greeted me and asked how I could be helped. I said I was there to pick up my van. There was a pause and then the seated woman spoke to me. I thought "Oh, she's going to work with me, now. I wonder why she didn't speak to me first." She never once smiled at me. She asked for my license and when she returned it, I said "Thank you." That's when I realized she had not said "Thank you" when I handed it to her or at any other time during our conversation. As the checkout neared the end, she gave me a form to sign/initial that said I had checked the condition of the van. Since I had not yet looked at the van and had not even been told which one it was, I wasn't ready to sign/initial that form. She said, in a rude tone, "Well, you're supposed to be out there checking it!" I said, "There's a good reason I'm not; it's because I'm here working with you." In all, I felt the checkout experience was very unfriendly and I was made to feel like a burden. It was only later that I realized that since the process is set up for the renter to do almost all of the process self-serve, that this particular employee viewed any claim on her energy as an affront. I'm happy to follow whatever procedures you have set up to rent from you, but I don't need a surly employee to treat me like I'm an imposition. You could do a better job of communicating to your customers what is expected of them. You could do a better job of training your employees to deal with elderly customers who don't know your procedures by heart. I will not return to that location.
This experience was pleasant enough that I would go back for my next rental. The manager was very nice and helpful when I picked up the short-term rental.
Sometimes when I rent from here I can turn it in after they close that option was not given to me so I did not get it for a full day it would of been nice if that was extended to me since I picked it up after 2230pm I should of gotten a 24 hours at least since I paid for a full day. I put only 6 hours but it just would of been nice if that was offered to bring it in later.
The equipment had a oil leak that stained the driveway at my new home when parked there. Very disappointing.
Maybe have the uhaul maintenance guys checkbor inspect if all the fluids are at least half tank full before allowing the truck to be driven off the premises...we almost caught on fire cuz there was absolutely no coolant on our way home from a 30 mile distance which is not far at all. We were delayed stalled in the middle of nowhere for hours. And then the storage closed at 12 am and so we didn't get to get all our stuff up to storage due to the car engjne overheating! I would like our days car rental amount reimbursed to me!
Unfortunately the Van had dirt on the inside but it was clean overall and the Shocks were stiff so every bump was felt.
I was never greeted or dismissed. They simply pointed. They were very nonverbal during my transaction. I was passed off three times. The first man pointed to another man and said he would help me. This second man asked my last name. and then stood up and asked someone else to finish with me. This man just printed something out and began walking outside. He never even communicated to follow him. He just started outside so I figured I must need to follow him. He told me to walk around the truck and look for damage. I said it has a lot of scratches. He said roughly, only major damage. I signed and wrote on there that there were scratches. He tore the sheet off, handed me my copy and walked back in. Never asked if I had questions, etc. I just love great customer service and try to provide it to my clients so I am always amazed when customer service is this poor. It was almost comical how poor of a transaction it was. Also, they were out of moving blankets. The truck was surprisingly easy to drive.
The office can't seem to open on time and then I returned the equipment and was getting emails about it saying it wasn't returned.
They really help me out big time
