Nothing everything was perfect.
The inside and outside of the truck was filthy. The windshield had tons of dirt. The yellow "need service light" was on inside the vehicle and transmission would rev-up when applying the break. I felt like the vehicle was not safe. I will be contacting the State of CA. I'm sure there are laws requiring rental vehicles to be in good working condition when renting to the public. The establishment had few roaches climbing the walls and bird poop on the walls (I have the pictures to prove it). I've rented from other U-Hauls and never experienced this before. The only man working there was in different to providing good customer service and I believe it's because his business is in the heart of a poor community (African Americans and Hispanics) and he feels has though we are not worthy of good customer service. Heck, I think maybe he thought we'll would never notice that the vehicle have not been serviced. Same on him but I will not keep this to myself. I will be posting a review on yelp with pictures! Look out!
The I haul truck was very dirty. I brought it to the attention of the agent when I was checking out vehicle because I noticed a spill, crumbs, and just a dirty inside can and outside. He acted very nonchalant so I made sure I documented it on the paper I signed prior to leaving the site. Upon returning the vehicle the same agent claims the vehicle was more dirty than when I received it but that's inaccurate. No eating and we only had water and made sure to leave it better than we found it. I made sure to document everything because when I read the reviews I saw that this location is problematic and I found it to be an issue as well.
Based on an inaccurate description of the 10' truck, i rented one because I needed a ramp. When I got the truck home, I realized there was no ramp. I IMMEDIATELY returned the truck. The imbecile at the Gibraltar Self Storage (Next to the Slauson Swapmeet) said he had to still charge me; despite the fact that he verified the Mileage, Gas level and cleanliness of the vehicle. As a result, I had to file a claim with Customer Service. I will never again rent a truck from U-Haul. The staff are incompetent, putting it politely.
I don't see what is the point of allowing me to choose a pickup location if you are then going to select one for me. As if driving over half an hour to pick up the truck wasn't bad enough, we were sent to a super sketchy neighborhood. The pick-up location was also a bit confusing, We had to ask security for assistance.
You guys gave me a van with tranmsion problems spent over 400 dollars to go and come back from San Diego
The gentleman was not sociable at all and was trying to charge me to clean literally 3 small pieces of paper that I didn't realize I had dropped. Meanwhile the vehicle already was filthy and I have pictures to prove it before I rented it
I returned my vehicle at the appropriate time just didn't know I had to take a photo of the key proof of returning .. so I called a rep and they said they were going to note it in the system .. but some how they can't find the notes but I talked to a rep that didn't work for the actual company and he Over rode them.. so great ful for the 3rd associate I spoke to

Truck didn't come with a dolly . When I returned and told the man, he said you have to request a dolly , they do not keep them in the truck .This rental experience was the worst I've had. I will not use this location EVER again.

The person that assisted me at the Gibraltar was nice and very courteous. He made my dreadful moving weekend go so much more smoother. Thank you very much.
I confirmed my order on line and went to the uhaul. Worker on this day looked shocked to have a customer. Even asked if I was sure I rented from that location. He never got out to check the van before I took it. He asked me to do it. I returned to explain there was white spray paint on the passenger side and that the gas was on empty. He waved me away saying ok. He originally marked the paper at 1/4, but then scratched it out and put it marked it at 1/8 because the lady who rented and turned the van before explained that to him. I took off in a rush thinking he would fix it once I returned as he did when he adjusted it the first time. When I returned he had no recollection and charged me for gas. So what would of been a $30 translation turned to $55 for only 13 miles ofuse.
The representatives were very great and honest I left my phone in the truck and it was able to get it the next day that means a lot to me and goes a long way as far as good business thank you
Truck was filthy, soda spilled on the dashboard , seat, and floor mats. Cigarette ashes on the dashboard and driver's door. The cigarette smell was strong.
Truck cab was not cleaned out. The reserved supplies that had been requested and paid for were not on hand. I was sent to another location. The rep was not on site and i waited 15 minutes. Horrible experience.
Location needs to stock basic moving supplies. No furniture pads or dolly available even though request/order was placed when the reservation was made.
The customer service is super poor they lie to you just to get you to rent the trucks then can't in touch with Area field manager by phone that place & the customer service stinks overall experience was a real nightmare I would never ever go back or would I ruined anyone's like by recommending this place.. they need to retrain the crew & the management .. this is just sad that they let just anybody run a full Business that don't have any knowledge on how to run a business handled people are talk to people it is very inappropriate to lie just to get people to rent a truck ... NEVER GOING BACK
It would be nice to have been shown the truck and go over details of truck prior to driving off lot as well as have equipment that I requested already in the truck. Although I should of double checked to make sure a dolly was inside the van, I trusted that everything I needed was there but I didn't know until I arrived home and opened up the back of the van expecting to see a dolly but unfortunately to my disappointment there wasn't, which made my move a bit challenging to say the least. Not to mention that the windshield was very dirty and it made it worse when I used the windshield wipers and wiper fluid to clean the windshield which smeared all the dirt creating an outline ???? But overall I am thankful for having the van to assist in my move. Thank you!
I was sent to this location even though my confirmation email indicated a location on Western. Once I arrived at the Slauson location, I was not expected and was told my 9am resevation was set for 12pm. After a brief discussion with the clerk I we cleared up my reservation check out time. It took nearly an hour to enter my information to confirm my reservation. It was very disorganized and prolonged my move start time by an hour.
