The lot at this location is small for 26’ trucks. I tried to park but after several attempts the uhaul agent told me to park on the street. It would be helpful to indicate on the rental contract that for large trucks to park on the street at this location.

Third time I have rented UHaul vehicles here. Easy to work with. Always courteous, professional and helpful. It’s in the next town over from where I live now, but definitely worth the short drive for good customer service. I highly recommend.

Not much, except that your website is confusing and unclear about what is available at what location when you make a reservation. It needs to be more explicit that the equipment you want may be located somewhere other than your preferred pick up location.

Though I don't think it was intentional, when I picked up the truck it had 1/8 tank of gas. So I brought it back with between 1/4 and 1/8. I was never told that I had a $31.50 credit available if the tank had been at 1/4!! No mention. As a result, I was charged $31.50 when I returned, jus a gallon or two short. I've been renting from U-haul for over 30 years. I've never heard of such a ridiculous thing and I would very much appreciate it if someone would reverse this charge.

i reserved my truck on May 6 and requested to pick it up in San Luis Obispo at 9 am today. I was called a couple weeks ago and offered a $50 discount if I'd pick up my truck in Santa Maria or Paso Robles instead. I declined because neither location was convenient. I was then call a couple days before picking up the truck and told that I'd have to go to Los Osos to get my truck at Noon - which was 3 hours later than I requested and took me an extra 40 minutes. Truck reservations should be guaranteed for pick up location - if there wasn't a truck in San Luis Obispo, then your personnel should have gone to Los Osos and brought the truck there. I felt like the fact that I planned ahead did not matter and that was frustrating. That being said, the people who work at the Los Osos location were very helpful and even called to let me know that the truck was available earlier than noon, which I appreciated.

U-haul truck had not been properly cleaned since the last driver. Also the passenger side mirror was loose and would not stay in place while driving and had to be constantly adjusted by the passenger.

I arrived at 11:15 had the truck allegedly at noon returned at 11:15 and they charge me for another day. The vehicle was filthy when I picked it up I was not walked around or inspected by a employee of the company and when I dropped it off it was the same situation. I will be not using U-Haul moving forward

Here are my thoughts about the online van/truck renting system by U Haul: It is very poor customer service for an online reservation system to accept a reservation for a 9-ft van rental at a location that can not guarantee it will actually be available. In my case, the online system confirmed my request and designated 11 am for my pick-up. When I arrived at 11, the van I was to rent had not been returned! I had been confirmed to rent a van based on the current user returning it on time!! What type of a company does that? It's a formula for disaster. There were no other vans to rent!! So I guess too bad for me that I have people waiting for me and specific moving times confirmed. My situation did not end that way fortunately because this local rental site had ONE other truck in inventory that day and it was available. It happened to be a 10-footer that I could drive and at the same price. I had noticed it when I pulled in and then asked if it was an option. It all worked out, but not because of U Haul online reservations!! The local guys were helpful and the truck I ended up with was in good working order, easy to drive, although bigger than I needed, and used more gas. When I returned it 3 hours later, the van had still not shown up. I had noticed other U Haul review comments describing similar situations .... basically not having the confirmed rental vehicle available at pick up time. But I still went ahead and reserved one, and it happened to me too! Next time, I will call the local site directly before making a reservation!! Also what is up with rental vehicles with partially filled gas tanks? Isn't moving stressful enough without have to make sure in my case, the tank is 7/16th!! full upon return? I know rental car companies do the same thing. Still does not make it good business :(

When I reserved the small truck at the location the employee reserved the wrong size. I should have got a receipt and checked it myself, because when I showed up for the truck they had a van reserved instead. This required five trips instead of one and three other friends vehicles.And the van does not have a ramp to bring the dolly of boxes in. I explained what happened to the the owner and he did not charge me for the extra twenty miles. The windshield was so dirty inside I could not see in the sun. You could see where the last driver had the same problem with the dirty windshield. Next time I will be more careful when reserving and bring a rag and window cleaner with me.

It took a good half hour to get checked out. I can only assume the young man checking us out was being trained. He had no idea what he was doing. He ran my card and realized I was charged for something I didn't ask for. He called over the manager who became frustrated and stepped in and re-entered my contract and ran my card again. He said it didn't go through the first time. When I got home and checked my account I realized I was charged twice. I called Uhaul and was informed it would take up to 5 days to be put back into my account, which is totally unacceptable. It should have been reversed immediately. I shouldn't have had to pay for uhaul's mistake. The reason I checked no on the truck being well maintained is after loading the truck we noticed the check engine light was on. It wasn't blinking and the truck ran fine so we went ahead a drove it, without incident. I would never recommend this location for a uhaul and will never use it again. I have always had decent service from uhaul until this time.
