They unhooked us in record time and got us back out without issue. My only complaint is that U-Haul should have cut me a credit because we returned the item a few days early.

The staff at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Manteca provided excellent customer service! They were very friendly, yet professional, and processed my pick-up and return expeditiously. This made it very convenient. Unfortunately, the truck I'd rented was in very poor shape with damages around the box truck, the driver door squeaked when opening/closing and the ride was very uncomfortable. However, the air-conditioning was more than adequate.
Rental agents were courteous and helpful. Given the COVID pandemic, I feel U Haul has done a good job of providing a safe environment. I appreciated King's help with the paperwork and for hooking up the rental trailer and the safety check. The return experience was great as well. Everything was done for me with no need to go into the rental office To close out paperwork.
Waiting for someone to help takes so much time. Checked in online and still waited 30 minutes to have the paperwork and trailer hooked up (8:30am). Then returned the trailer around 4:30pm same day and waited at the return area for 10+ minutes without anyone showing up. Honked the horn and still nobody. Got out the truck and went inside to find lady talking to a customer. This went on for about 10 minutes and I'm just waiting there. Then I finally see someone outside walking towards the return station. They have cameras all over the area and radios to alert each other. But this happens so often at this location. Love the selection, prices and location being close to home. Just wished they could speed things up most of the time. Other than the waiting, I'll still be back for the availability and fair prices. Slow. Poor selection of equipment
The truck was horrible. The outside was covered in bird poop, the door was falling apart when i opened it, radio didn't work, Had to walk out to the back forty for the truck. tried to over charge us for gas he corrected when asked about it. The truck just felt rickety and it was honestly terrifying driving it on the freeway. I questioned the maintenance records of this vehicle, very scary and will continue to take my business to the little uhaul rentals near my house instead of this location.
I was charged for my rental and someone else's!! I complained but have yet to see a resolution.
The girls behind the counter can go over the rental agreement with customers instead of gossiping about food and be clear on the fuel surcharges. In regards to the fuel, instead of charging customers for gas they didn't use because the system now is on approximations, picking up a vehicle with a full tank will let customers know exactly what they are responsible for. If the customer puts gas in themselves, there can still be a dispute on how much gas was actually used because ones approximation is different from the next.
I picked up in Manteca because Fairfield had no one way trucks available. Your staff was tremendous. If I lived in Manteca, I would certainly conduct business there.

I admit the pickup location I finally arrived at successfully was pleasant. However, my overall experience to finally arrive at this location was by far the worst experience I've ever had with any rental and non-rental goods company. Let me explain. I understand one way rentals are scarce in large transient cities like San Francisco during these times. However, I completed a reservation about 3-4 weeks prior to when I needed it. I called about a week prior to moving date to get a better idea of availability. The lady on the phone assured me that while she could not confirm the time and location, I would have a vehicle available in the bay area and I will get a call by the 26th of september to confirm location. Fine, I waited. So the 26th comes and I get a call saying there are no vehicles available in the bay and I would have to go to Pine Grove, CA to pick one up. That is TWO HOURS away. Again, while I understand the scarcity of these vehicles, letting a customer know less than 24 hours before pickup time is unreasonable. Had I known this I would have made alternate plans. You don't want to lose a customer? Fine, but rest assured this will be my last UHAUL experience. So either way customer is gone. But I digress. So I make arrangements to drive to Pine Grove the next morning, leaving SF at 6am to get to my pickup by 8am. However, a few hours later I get an email that my reservation is cancelled. Cool. I call support and they somehow find me another vehicle in Martinez, CA. So the next morning I drive to Martinez, the pick up location happens to be a gas station. The employee at the gas station refuses to dispatch the vehicle to me, claiming they no longer rent uhuals (even though they had two vehicles in the lot). So again I call customer support, they then send me to Modesto, CA (an hour from martinez). So I go. I arrive to Modesto (not 3 hours after my reservation time) and they don't have a vehicle available. While I wasn't the most pleasant customer arriving at Modesto, I had reached my limit was ready to cancel my reservation and go home (it didn't help that they admitted to doing this to someone else the day before). Someone from Manteca calls me saying they have a truck there. After some curse words (sorry to whoever I spoke with on the phone), I felt assured the vehicle was in fact there and so I drove to Manteca. So 4 hours after my pickup time and many many miles later, I finally got a truck. This delayed my move drastically, leaving SF around 4pm, and arriving at my new destination at 1am. Thanks for the $50 reimbursement for my troubles.

Find closer location for pick-up and have ready when arriving. Had to drive 2+ hours to original location and trailer was not there... changed location 45 mins away... this location was closer to starting point and had 4 trailers available.
Detasha the Uhaul manager of Manteca gave excellent customer service despite my horrible experience with uhaul. She corrected Uhauls horrible experience. Don't go to Uhaul Livermore they were not accommodating, and they hated their jobs. I had a guaranteed reservation for 2pm pickup for a 20' truck and transporter. When I got there after driving all the way from concord the rental was not available. They could not explain why and said it is what it is. Even though Ivan and Filepe called me a day before confirming my reservation. I was doing a one way from CA to Las Vegas. Ivan and there staff didn't show any concern, sympathy or comfort. They just wanted me out of their store. They did not want anything to do with my problem. I have never seen a bunch of people that worked for a company that didn't care about the customer and about the company they work for. I will not recommend Livermore Uhaul to anybody. They hate their jobs and very very poor customer service. They should look for another job if they don't like working at Uhaul. I also would like to mention Belinda from customer service that had the same attitude. She was quick to say that she will refund my money and I can go somewhere else. Moving is a very stressful thing to do. I was schedule to pick up my 20' truck and transporter on Sunday 7am at the concord location. I had a reservation for it. They keep on saying that there is no guarantee on reservations so what's the point of making a reservation. When people set a day or week to move that's a set date. When we pick a day to move everything is set in terms of movers, move out day, move in day, and everything leading to the day of the move. How can uhaul believe that renting a truck and transporter be flexible in terms of time. Naturally you will get a very frustrated and angry customer. I really had a horrible experience with uhaul and won't forget this. I would like a public apology from the staff from Livermore. They have no customer service skill and no sympathy to their customers. I feel that they hate their jobs because they did not care. I highly recommend Uhaul Manteca they were able to to get me on the road and I was able to get my transporter from Oakley the day after. Detasha from Manteca is a great manager and was able get me on the road. I think Detasha should be the overall manager for all these branches. She was able to make it work. Also if you are scheduled for a pickup and you get an email or text message or your uhaul app tells you to go to Oakland for your pick up. Call customer service right away before going to Oakland. Belinda from customers service said thats a default message but your rental is not there so beware....
Drop off was easy except for he told me my total charges were different than what my total charges came out to be I will be contacting the office tomorrow to get this straightened out you can't tell me one thing my charges and then charge me another

Your online service needs a lot of work. Nothing against manteca location it was great even the night person came up to me and asked me if I needed anything that's what you call customer service but the online service where I tried to check out without getting in contact with anybody was horrible it just took forever and then the person couldn't get a hold of the person I was trying to get a hold of as like a verification code I think when I went inside show my ID it was simple.
