I had the MOST terrible experience. -Lack of communication -No staff on location -No truck available, despite having reservation -Customer service upon calling 1-800-go-uhaul was not helpful, did not write down notes on to reservation, no reimbursement even though they asked "what can be done at this time". Reservation 27461508 Upon showing up to pick up location - ( local grocery store) there was no one to speak to regarding pick up. When we finally found someone 20 minutes later, she explained that "someone" had left her the keys, and that we needed to find the truck outside ( huge local with large parking lot) she was left with no further instructions. We drove around looking for the large truck, did not find it. Finally, we see that there is uhaul VAN ( tiny vehicle nowhere near the size of what was reserved to move a 3-4 bedroom house), we tested the key, and indeed, that was the vehicle that was left for us. We went back inside to get answers and she knew nothing. I called customer service and was placed on hold for 20 minutes, and given the number to a "near by" location. This near by location was 20 minutes from pick up location. With traffic, it took over 30 minutes there, and 30 minutes back. A whole extra hour I had to pay my movers to sit at my house while I got this issue resolved. The agent on the phone said she would "note the account" so I could call after and further discuss. I was able to get a truck at the not so "near by" location. No one took ownership for the mistake. I called the 1800 # afterwards to see if something could be done about my extra miles and for some compensation to cover the cost of my movers/stress added, etc., and the phone call I had made earlier that day had not been noted. There was no record of me having called at all. Bree, who was the agent I spoke to in the afternoon, was the only person who was apologetic and empathetic, despite it not being her direct fault. She mentioned that I would see some sort of reimbursement ($50, plus miles), I have not seen that post yet and the full amount was charged to my card. I will need to rent another truck in a week or two to move once again, and I am terribly worried about how that will go. I trusted a large company to help with this, and I am so disappointed that the process added even more stress to an already stressful move . Who can return my money? I understand a *new* reservation was made instead of working off the initial one? New: 99501020. Who can assure me that my next uhaul rental experience, which will be within 30 days, will be different?

The first location which I was confirmed to pick up at had the truck but did not have any keys for the truck. This resulted in major loss of time and money as a result of having hired employees to help with the move which were on the clock.

I was forced to go to this location because the place I originally booked messaged me at 7am my moving day that the truck I reserved was unavailable. This location was very far from my house which caused me to drive nearly an extra 20 miles and I was over one hour late causing the movers to wait unnecessarily at my home for me. Uhaul handled this very unprofessionally. When I arrived at the location nobody was there and I called the office many times and nobody answered. I had to call useless uhaul customer service again to tell them I was there waiting and already late. They also told me that I could drive through tolls with the truck but I just received a bill asking me to pay an additional administrative fee for the tolls. So why was I told this?? I had a perfectly good sun pass that I could’ve used to avoid this fee. I’m very annoyed and never want to use this company again.

Don’t bait and switch! $19.95 turned into $64 for 30 mile use? $12 for a gallon of gas? Rental tax!!? Boo!! I thought U Haul was the best. Guess I think twice before going with the big corporation.

Equipment was not properly set up and had to attach the rented trailed to the rented truck my self. The manager who attended me was very sketchy and added an utility darling and furniture pads which i was never given or requested so i ended up paying extra for that. I guess it was my fault for not reviewed the contract order when i picked up the truck/trailer. I assume he probably does it to everyone and i guess some people do to catch the scam. very dishonest guy. The equipment was good.

Even with a reservation, I had to wait an hour before I was helped because there was only ONE person working and he decided to help 3 other customers first. Two of which had reservations after mine. I was lied to at the time of reservation (which I did over the phone), stating I had x amount of miles that came with the rental. The man who was assisting me at the time of pick up disagreed & didn’t care to explain why he wouldn’t give me the free mileage. Instead, he picked up his phone, called a number, and handed the phone to me. The woman on the phone stated that I should have been getting mileage with my rental because I was moving within the same city. Long story short, I ultimately had to pay for ever mile I used. As for cleanliness, I’m sure it may be normal (since the trucks are used for moving) but there were two dead cockroaches in the truck. Dead, meaning, they were probably there for a while before dying off. As for the drivers section of the vehicle, it was clean. The windshield wipers need replacing. It rained during my move and the wipers just made the windshield murky. Overall, I had a poor experience and I most likely will not be doing business with Uhaul again.

The experience was really bad. I got charged for the insurance which I never requested. When I called for a refund I never got it. I got the truck with 7 miles over. The service was very unprofessional and the sales representative (Marcos Concepcion) was doing his personal business while helping us. We waited for 40 minutes to get the reservation and we had made it online. He confused my reservation with another persons and charged me extra things which I did not request. In general, the experience was a complete disaster both in person and on the phone. I was never refunded for the insurance which I never requested to have.
