My truck that I reserved over 2 weeks in advance was not available for me on the day and time I arrived. I had to pay more money for the same truck.

I reserved a truck online days ago. I picked the truck up yesterday in New Bedford MA. It was a one way trip from New Bedford to Arlington, MA. When I arrived late night in Arlington, MA at the drop off location, I used the uhaul website drop off option. While “checking out”, it used my location services to notify me I was at the wrong location and it had to be driven all the way back to the original pickup location which is roughly 70 miles away from where I have just moved to. Basically the order got messed up somewhere and it was scheduled as an “in town rental”, which was wrong. I called uhauls 24 hour number and explained. They then told me I had to drive it all the way back. I disputed them as the error was on their end. I then was transferred to someone else in “customer service” and they told me to drive it all the way ~70 miles back and that the “traffic” dept was closed for the night and I had the options to stay with the truck overnight until morning when they opened to dispute it ot drive it all the way back. Had I left it at the Arlington, MA location I’d be risking “up to 3X rental change penalty.” No one on their end would change the reservation to a one way trip. So I sucked it up and drove all the way back to New Bedford, MA late into the night, essentially doubling my mileage use and havubg to soend another $32 in gas to get it back. It was an awful experience. I plan to return to uhaul today to dispute this and hopefully be reimburse for my fuel costs I should never have had to pay.

There was a line to check back in and she said leave the key so I asked if she had a broom because there were a very small pile of pine needles Sue said it's all set and I left and was emailed a cleaning fee

The doors in my truck didn't close all the way, on either side. There was a gap where I could see outside when my door was shut. I was driving on the highway and needed to play with the door to assure it wasn't going to open on me. Also the alignment on the truck was off and made it very difficult to steer the truck. I'm moving out of state so thankfully I won't have to use this location again.

I arrived at my reservation time to find out that the truck I had ordered was being repaired and there were no trucks available for me. I had to wait for the associate to call the manager and find out if he could give me the truck which was on the lot and promised to another customer. The manager decided to give the truck to me, which worked out, but in the end I find it strange that I reserved a vehicle so I could have one waiting for me, only to find out that when I arrive and I am on a time schedule, that I was faced with the possibility that I might be out of luck. This concerns me due to the fact that on June 21, 2019 at 4pm I have another reservation for a one-way move to Arizona and I need the 26 footer and auto transport, which I will also be on a time sensitive schedule. I hope that I can be assured of the fact that this equipment will be ready for me when I arrive at my appointment time. Also, when I returned the truck, the woman at the counter, who was eating food as she was helping other customers, asked me if I paid by credit card and I told her that I did. She assured me that I was all set and she would check in the vehicle after she was done with the other customers. I found out that this was not the case because I received and email showing that I returned the vehicle one day later and I was charged double for everything. I’m not happy at all about that!!! I called New Bedford and Amy said that she would take care of it. I haven’t received anything by email as of yet showing the corrected bill or a credit. I hope this is not a sign of things to come for my future business with your company.

The line was very long; the woman was talking to one man for almost a half hour as 12 of us waited - one woman for only a big box she was buying. Never did she look up and say anything about being sorry for the wait. When I, 2nd in line with my husband, finally asked, "How long will this be?" she snapped, "I'm doing the best I can." We were all watching her approximately 2-year old son run around the shop and get into everything, and of course she had to run and stop him a few times.

Wait time for pick up was excessive... not enough personnel for the number of bookings. It cut into the time we had for loading and making use of our time. Very annoying!

The lady who checked us in took an hour just with us not including waiting for the people in front of us. She was very unprofessional talking about her life and changing music on her phone.

Both doors on the cab had open/close issues, no matter how many times you closed it, it felt like it was open, you could hear outside air coming in. The drivers door did not close properly, the passengers door did not open from the outside, you had to lean over from drivers-side to pull the handle, to open door to allow a passenger in.

The vehicles for rent are maintained very well. The area of improvement would be more employees working the counter. There was only one employee handling all the customer pick up and returns causing a long wait.
