I was charged almost $160 for the rental. The Truck shook horribly until speed got over 40-45. The check engine light came on 1/2 way to my destination. I was terrified to shut it off fearing it wouldn't start and I'd be stuck an hour away from home. Returned the truck and was told i owed more $ for going 4 miles over what i was charged. I disputed the additional charge (the associate waived it) and I don't think i should have been charged the $160 considering the condition of the truck. I will tell everyone i know about my experience and will not recommend them to anyone.
Check equipment wiring and tire pressures, between rentals. Otherwise service was great!
After I did my reservation the email I received asking me to upload documents was very confusing and not user-friendly. I think you could make this initial email a lot more customer-friendly with easy to follow directions.

Truck was old 69k miles but well maintained and clean just not as nice as last one I rented there
I live 2 mins from this location so I called them to reserve a 15' truck. They didn't have one so I was offered one 9 miles away in Cumberland, ok fine. So, I had that 15' truck scheduled for 9am. Unfortunately I was 2 hours late for pick-up and right before my arrival I was called by U-Haul to tell me they GAVE MY 15' TRUCK TO SOMEBODY ELSE and that only a 10' truck is available. The issue here is they didn't bother to call me to say they were going to give the truck to somebody else, they only called me after making that decision. Why wasn't I called to verify I still needed the truck before it was given to another??? A follow-up to this issue is that this "policy" is stated nowhere in the emails I received nor was this communicated by the rep over the phone when I initially scheduled the truck. After returning the 10' truck I had to make SEVERAL trips back to my old house, 40 mins one way, using my CAR, so I could finish getting my belongings. If I had the 15ft truck which I RESERVED I could have gotten everything in one trip. Another thing I didn't like is I was never offered any kind of discount nor was I offered a BIGGER truck... just a bunch of 10' trucks which I kept telling U-Haul was too small for my needs that day. I called to complain and specifically asked for some form of compensation but to no avail. It is also worth noting upon entering the smaller 10' truck I found what looked like sticks and or vines on the dashboard, seats and floor. Clearly nobody bothered to clean this truck out before my pick-up. I'm doubtful that truck was sanitized to help protect ME and prevent spread of THE VIRUS, SMH. I never write negative reviews however this lack of communication on U-Haul's part and the seemingly un-sanatized truck really ruined my day so I want to use this to help others anticipate the potential loss of their reservation if they're running late.
No complaints, were awesome. But they did tell us that we would only be paying 191.50 because we didn't use the truck as long as we thought. But we were still billed for 224.00

Very good experience. Even when I had problems with the moving help I hired through U-haul the truck rental side of this was very helpful.
The cargo van we rented needed a cleaning inside. There was trash and paper work from the previous customer. Also during covid they should have wiped down the trucks inside cabin or at least provided the customer with disinfectant wipes.
I'd like to receive a detailed bill listing all charges for the entire rental vs a summary.
Armando is very professional and friendly even when he is the only person on staff and it is busy.
More for the online booking. Stop the pages of asking for boxes, storage, movers, etc. It's annoying. Have a page that ask if we want more than the vehicle. If we check no, skip, if yes, then continue with the up sell. But when trying to book mobile it is a pain, so online experience is a 1 with U-Haul website, which isn't their control.

I reserved a 20' truck at the Attleboro, MA location SIX (6) WEEKS in advance. I chose Attleboro because you told me there were no 20' trucks on that date in North Attleboro - that's fine. The week of my reservation, a woman named Tracy called me from UHaul to let me know my rental had been downgraded to a 15' truck. She offered 60 extra miles on the rental "so I could make multiple trips" OR offered to let me pick up my rental in Providence, RI. How is 6 weeks not long enough to reserve the truck we needed, that you said was available? Tracy could only say it was "subject to availability." That's not a reservation... it's a request. You didn't "reserve" anything for us. I'm not pleased that you guys value my time so little that your solution to being unprepared for my "reservation" was to offer that I drive further to pick up the truck OR drive further to move my stuff in multiple trips. Six weeks is a long time. Plus, if it was no big deal to ask ME to drive to Providence, why couldn't you have just moved the truck to where I had "reserved" to pick it up? Then you could have honored your word. People go to your company to rent trucks so they can move their belongings to new homes... why would you add stress to that by treating people with such little respect and empathy? I'd like to be clear here - your employees were amazing and respectful. Your company policies are downright rude in this instance. I have to do extra car rides between my apartment and my new house, after moving all my furniture, to get all my stuff moved and I'm wasting a ton of gas AND TIME, and it's because you guys didn't honor my reservation. It takes an hour to drive back and forth round trip. My TV stand was broken in the move and my kitchen table got scratched because I didn't have time to wrap them after you guys ripped the rug out from under me. The icing on the cake is that when I went to pick the truck up, someone in front of me in line said, "I'm here to pick up a 20' truck" and got it. How far in advance did he make his "reservation"? How far in advance do I have to ask you guys to live up to your word? With all the money and time this has wasted, I'm just gonna pay Penske the $450 next time to make sure things go the way they're supposed to. I will be sharing this story with my friends and family. Thank you to whoever is reading this, I know it's probably not your fault but I'm just appalled tbh. My tone is obviously not directed at you, rather the company. Happy holidays.
The truck was easy to rent over the phone , the worker in the store when I came was excellent, pleasant and professional. The return was super easy too. The price was excellent and I will be using Uhaul again
the online services were VERY user friendly, don't let some knuckleheaded IT executive make changes just to justify his salary, it is excellent the way it is, the look, feel, and ease of navigation is one of the best I've used.
BUT wasn't happy with the information given the employees need to be all on the same page and instructed correctly with the same information. I reserved a truck 2 days in advance was quoted and advised of a price $122 then on Saturday pick up truck wasted another hour redoing the whole trip with a bigger price $295 and wanted to buy blankets not rent them cause cautious for bed bugs, he said 6-for $15 thought that was cheap and said I'll buy them so didn't return them when truck was returned cause I new I bought them. Wrong you charged be $86.66 more cause they weren't returned I've returned 4 and returning the other two on Wednesday, then wasn't explained at time of pick up that if we go over mileage it will be charged more my receipt given to me didn't match the receipt that the guy printed out sunday when I went to complain?? he was even confused as to why my didn't match his. needless to say Im not happy. Please dont waste your time unless you want to be ripped off. We drove a total of 14 miles and were charged $14 for gas. We already paid 99cents which was fine. This is not the first time this happened but it will be the last.

The APP is awful! To take a trailer/car from UHaul is taking â€œforeverâ€ - no information saved from the past. Each time it waste my time and at the end it stops the process and I need do deal with the worst customer service in-person again. They ruined my moving day multiple times!
