I'm annoyed that I wasn't able to pick up the 10' truck I had reserved one week prior. At the time of my booking it seemed that this would be a guarantee and not a preferred choice, unlike location pickup/dropoff location.

Only because workers were not very helpful with info. Asked the rates for 4 days versus weekly rate and I never got a complete answer. They were sleepy and one used the word "bored". Did not seem to be well trained or didn't know the rates. When we rented in the Spring the man at that time was very helpful and answered our questions well. Also money was not to be charged to my account until van was turned in but it was (not just set aside). Pleased with vehicle but not the workers at the time. Thanks. BES

Terrible. Local manager is claiming 3k damage for a broken glass piece only of a mirror. Dishonest is the kindest word to describe.

My no above refers to the "well maintained" aspect. The truck was quite clean and worked fine. But I contracted to have 6 furniture pads, and there were only 2 in the bag, which I didn't find out until I was mid-move. The clerk at the UHaul counter was kind and apologetic about this, and refunded that portion of my bill--but the money wasn't an issue for me; what WAS an issue was trying to protect my furniture, and that became quite difficult as the truck got more and more packed. So: please make sure there are as many pads in those bags as there are supposed to be. Thanks. I want to add, though, that the service I received that day, in terms of pick up and drop off and the clarity of instructions, was exemplary. Really wonderful.

The Northampton office is supposed to open at 7 am, but when we arrived to the Northampton outlet to rent the truck at 8 am, as had been reserved, the door was locked and nobody appeared to be there. We called the number for that office, and the call was forwarded to a regional office. After waiting on hold for quite a while, someone came on the line and said the the office was now open. The employee at the Northampton office stated that he had been "in the back". Also, the furniture mats I had reserved were not in the truck.

I was entirely frustrated with my experience with Uhaul overall, though not specifically with the people at either location. Most specifically, I made my reservation online for both a truck and a car tow dolly. I was not notified until ONE DAY before my reservation that, in fact, the only dolly available was in Springfield, a 25 minute drive away. When I called customer service, not only were the representative that I spoke with wildly unhelpful, but were actually super rude. Then, my total cost for the rental ended up being significantly more than I was quoted during my reservation. I expect some fluctuation, especially with a long move like mine, but to charge an additional $179 BEYOND what I was anticipating to pay is totalyl unreasonable. Not only were we on the hook for the gas to go down and pick up the dolly and get it back, we also paid more than anticipated. The suspected reason is that the quoted price didn't included the insurance I selected, but I did select the insurance when making the reservation. Perhaps better on my own part was required, but I think it's a really slimy move to pull something like that, knowingly lowballing the rental price to screw people over. I will say that the people who helped us pick up our van and attach our tow dolly were super kind and helpful- they of course aren't the ones making these kinds of decision. The people on the phone, however, were super rude and gave piss poor customer service. Finally, the truck I drove was incredibly shaky and had an obvious issue with the transmission. I regularly drive larger trucks for work and I've never had a truck have so much trouble turning over between gears. I'm really, really dissatisfied with my Uhaul experience because of the company overall.

Install a ramp in the 10 foot trucks. I have used Uhaul many many times but never saw a truck without a ramp

Did not have appliance dolly or moving blankets as reserved by me online. Uhaul sucks big time. Thank goodness budget rentals saved the day with the equipment I needed!

Scheduled a pick up time for when the store opened at 7:00am, but when we arrived no employees were at the store. The employee did not arrive till after 8:00am and due to the buildup of customers waiting to get their rentals we were not able to get our truck till 8:45. Putting us almost 2 hours behind our moving schedule. We also rented equipment pads which ended up not being available at the location, but we were still charged for them on our bill. Overall, this Uhaul location was just inconvenient on an already very busy moving day.

I've rented quite a few U-Haul trucks over the years for my business as a cabinetmaker and have learned that Uhaul doesn't always maintain trucks as well as I would hope.In this instance the first 26' truck I was offered was pretty beat and i had to insist on taking another later model truck. The attendant was very good at making the change and consequently I was very happy with my rental experience.
