Did all returns by photo and text messages. Most of the questions were N/A. Wish I could have turned the U Haul in Auburn which they had a dealer. It was 3 minutes from me but had to drive 25 minutes away.

SIMONE GThis transaction with U-Haul was probably the most frustrating experience I have ever had to endure. I called U-Haul a few days before to confirm the time and that the trailer was available, and I was told quite clearly that it would be there. They did not mention anything about having to be there within 15 minutes of my actual appointment time, but once I realized I was running late I did try to call twice to let them know - both times I waited on hold for 20 minutes with no answer so I finally gave up. When I arrived at the original pick up location it was clear that they were chronically understaffed and it took another 20 minutes in line to talk to anyone. They checked my reservation and told me I was too late and that the reservation had been canceled and they said they had no other trailers available. They also told me someone had tried to call me which was absolutely not true. Another customer behind me was told his reservation had never actually been assigned to that location and that there was no similar equipment in the area. He was clearly as frustrated as I was as he only had a few hours to get his job done and now he had no equipment either. I called U-Haul corporate to try and figure out what was going on, and they reopened my reservation and told me there was a smaller trailer available at the location where I was. So I got back in line and wasted another 15 minutes to talk to the on-site agent again. They told me that on their screen the reservation was still canceled, was not assigned to their location and that there were no trailers available. I cannot understand how it is possible for the screen that the corporate agents see, does not match the screen that the on-site agents see, but that is what happened. So whilst talking to the on-site agent I insisted they call corporate with me there. This corporate agent now said that there was a trailer available, but it was at another location 20 minutes away so I was sent there. I probably wasted an hour and a half because of this complete failure of U-Haul's systems. I arrived at the second location, to find it was at a small convenience store which was actually closed. There were 2 small trailers sitting nearby. I finally found a note in the window of the store giving a number to call for U-Haul service so I called. My call was answered and he confirmed my reservation number and told me which of the trailers I was assigned to. The trailer in question was extremely old and rusty but I was told it had to be that one. He told me to hook-up and send him a photo to make sure the hook-up was good which I did. He confirmed I was good to go and I drove off. I never saw him in person which I thought was strange. Anyway the trailer survived the 260 mile trip and when I turned it in the next morning the agent at the drop-off location said she didn't even want that trailer on her lot it looked that bad. I also mentioned to her that I had noticed the license plate tag had actually expired 2 years ago!! Overall all the people I talked to were helpful and polite, but the service, communication and process were bad beyond words. To have a corporate system showing people in an office taking reservations one thing, but that shows the agent at the site a completely different thing is unbelievable in this day and age. I will be looking at other options next time for sure!!
Stuart BThere was no attendant present. I had to interact via telephone. I had to drive to another location to purchase an adapter and trailer hitch.
Ed CThe address above is not the location of the pickup. I didn't expect to take a road trip to find the pickup location. When we arrived at the location there was no one in the office despite the open sign blinking in the window. I ended up having to call and do business with someone over the phone. Not the way to run a business.
